Has anyone heard of those record labels? Ubiquity and Tru Thoughts? They are awesome independent record labels that hasve amazing artists like TM Juke, Ohmega Watts, Alice Russell, Quantic, The Bamboos, Red Astaire, Nino Moschella, Spanky Wilson, plus many more. You have to check them out. They are amazing artists. Go to their websites:

and

I recommend Ohmega Watts, Alice Russell, Quantic, and Nino Moschella. Read their reviews. Order a CD. IT's good stuff.

Can you offer any descriptions of this music? Like, how might you classify it...?

I've heard about each label in passing, but I know nothing. I beg you for context.

OH whoops, sorry.

Well, Ohmega Watts is sort of soulful funky hip hop ... with dancefloor beats and clever lyrics. It's a lot nicer than the mainstream hip hop (which I generally don't like).

Alice Russell - "Music that tugs at the emotions and raises hairs on the back of the neck. You really can’t fake what Miss Russell’s got!" - That's what the Tru Thoughts website says. It's soulful, jazz, funky...

Quantic - "Jazz sensibility with future dance floor orientated grooves, deep funk and tough drums."

Nino Moschella - " Gritty, soulful, and honest" Nino has a sort of 60s quality to his beats.

The Bamboos - "Masters of super-heavy, raw and upfront drum-break driven grooves."

If you want to sample all of the artists, get an album like:

That one's great because you get a sampling to see what artists you like.
