Anybody bought the new album World's Apart? It is an extremely progressive, theatrical, overindulgent, sprawling mess, but after a few listens, it is starting to make some kind of sick sense. Not sure how much I like it yet but it is nice to hear a band going so far over the top.

I got it. I have to admit, I REALLY liked it on first listen. It's funny, Source Tags and Codes took me a while to get into, I liked this one on the first try. I'm not sure what that says, but I'm liking it for the time being.

It actually took me a while to get into Source Tags and Codes as well, so I think the same thing is happening with Worlds Apart. They are extremely different albums though.

I immediately fell for Source Tags & Codes on my first listen. As for Worlds Apart, it's taken me a while to get into it - but you're right about it making "sick sense" after a few listens.

<-- waiting for that Music Cares performance to surface

Who's excited?? :hyper:

Wowza, already? I haven't listened to Worlds Apart near enough yet.

Source Tags and Codes is classic.

I think artists/bands are allergic to South Florida:

If ...Trail of Dead had never released Worlds Apart, I would really be looking forward to this.

But they did.

Madonna and Source Tags, ESPECIALLY the latter, are tremendous achievements. I just could not bring myself to enjoy Worlds Apart...I thought it was a shambly, unfocused (to the point of self-destruction), and wasteful mess. The band still has the fire when playing live, though, so that's something. The near-perfection of Source Tags will probably mean that I listen to everything this band releases, even if I do think it won't be any good. God damn, what an album.....

"So Divided"

Please settle for a tracklisting:

"Intro: A Song of Fire and Wine"
"Stand in Silence"
"Wasted State of Mind"
"Naked Sun"
"Gold Heart Mountain Top Queen Directory"
"So Divided"
"Life"
"Eight Day Hell"
"Witches Web"
"Segue: In the Realms of the Unreal"
"Sunken Dreams"

Tour starts October 27th, album on November 14th.

DAMN! The closest they are coming to Miami on this tour is St. Pete (4.5 hrs away)

Heard the leak a couple of weeks ago. The new album sounds like Worlds Apart with more acoustic guitars and less violins (or violas, whatev).
