Top Ten Favourite Album Covers

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
interesting thread...do you mean artistically, or that conveys a general sense of the music, or do you mean general album artwork as well (ie. cd book, inside record flap, tape card)?

in no real order, for whichever of those reasons:

the pogues--hell's ditch
pearl jam--binaural
the clash--(self-titled)
barenaked ladies--born on a pirate ship
live--the distance to here
counting crows--hard candy
tool--lateralus
radiohead--kid a
u2--war
i forget the name of the band, we listened to it at a music staff meeting at the campus radio staion and it was too bad that it sucked cos the cd packing was really cool

No order, really.

"definelty maybe" is a great album musically, i never actually paid much attention to the cover, but it's pretty cool

what lo fidelity allstars album is that?? they've got more albums than "how to operate with a blown mind"??? awesome!!

All I know is that Pablo Honey by Radiohead has to be one of the WORST album covers ever. Ick.

I totally agree IWasBored. I understand why Radiohead doesnt like it and thinks it's really inferior to the rest of their work, but in it's own right it rocks. Good album, really bad cover/art.

hmmmm.....

hows about achtung baby?

The Clash - London Calling
I'm a sucker for a good parody.
The Clash - The Clash
Because it's f**king cool.
Radiohead - OK Computer
I like the loads of hidden messages.
Duran Duran - Seven & The Ragged Tiger
Interesting concept. Haven't pulled it out of the CD rack for some time though.
Oasis - Definitely Maybe
Love the references...plus they LOOK like the Beatles! (but that's another argument for another day)
Blur - Parklife
I just like this one. I don't like grayhound racing but it's a good shot.
U2 - Achtung Baby
Explosion of colour! Plus it's a lovely album.
Ash - Intergalactic Sonic 7"s (compilation)
Cool comic book feel about it.
Pearl Jam - Yield
Nice, Zen-like peace radiation from it. Plus nice packaging.
PJ Harvey - Stories From The City
Sue me, I love city lights.

shit man, do we happen to go both go to the same (other than this one) message boards? history by the verve, thats a great song and a really cool design.

pink floyd has great ones too, as does rem. future sound of london's "p.n.g." is neato too...
