Further to your top 7 Bowie tracks, COBL 04, thought it might be interesting to see what Bowie fans thoughts are on other people's versions of his songs, & vice-versa, Bowie's covers of others, her's my lists,

Others versions of Bowie songs

1. All the young dudes - Mott the hoople
2. TMWSTW - Lulu
3. Quicksand - Seal
4. Suffragette City - The Cybernauts
5. Andy Warhol - Stone Temple Pilots
6. All the Madmen - Alien Sex Fiend
7. Golden Years - Marilyn Manson.

Bowie's covers of others

1. Wild is the wind
2. My Death
3. Cactus
4. Kingdom Come
5. I wanna be your dog(glass spider tour cover)
6. White light white heat(serious moonlight tour cover)
7. Sorrow.

Not really sure the All the Young Dudes counts as a cover...I believe Bowie actually wrote All the Young Dudes for Mott the Hoople, but then he played it himself.

Yeah he wrote the song to prevent Mott from splitting up, but its still a Bowie song performed by another artist, lets not spilt hairs, hold on a minute while I go part the salt from the pepper on my plate!

Yeah but salt and pepper are quite different:p

Probably my favourite Bowie cover is Life on Mars with Neil Hannon and Yann Tiersen.
