The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Unfortunately that's the only demo to leak from the X&Y sessions. Sorry, Screwtape.

I'm pleasantly surprised at all the Don't Panic love!!

2. Careful Where You Stand
3. In My Place
4. Moses

I don't know anymore, I get The Hardest Part confused with A Message.

swallowed in the sea, omg:

You cut me down a tree
And brought it back to me
And that's what made me see
Where I was going wrong

You put me on a shelf
And kept me for yourself
I can only blame myself
You can only blame me

And I could write a song
A hundred miles long
Well that's where I belong
And you belong with me

And I could write it down
And spread it all around
Get lost and then get found
or swallowed in the sea

You put me on a line
And hung me out to dry
And darling, that's when I
decided to go see

You cut me down to size
And opened up my eyes
Made me realize
What I could not see

And I could write a book
The one they'll say that shook
The world and then it took
It took it back from me

And I could write it down
And spread it all around
Get lost and then get found
And you'll come back to me
Not swallowed in the sea

And I could write a song
A hundred miles long
Well that's where I belong
And you belong with me

The streets you're walking on
A thousand houses long
Well, that's where I belong
And you belong with me

Oh, what good is it to live
With nothing left to give
Forget, but not forgive
Not loving all you see

All the streets you're walking on
A thousand houses long
Well, that's where I belong
And you belong with me
Not swallowed in the sea

You belong with me
Not swallowed in the sea
Yeah, you belong with me
Not swallowed in the sea

sounds like a 13 year old girl's poem.

the only good part of that song is Chris's delivery, I don't remember any falsetto being used in that song.

if there is any falsetto, it's worse that Fix You, hands down.

I'd replace message with "What If"

The guitar part during the second verse of A Message is absolutely beautiful

I'm actually a huge fan of A Message. I think it's an excellent song.

There are a handful of songs on X&Y that I really like a lot. Square One, White Shadows, A Message, Low, and Til Kingdom Come are all my favorites.

Low especially

well any songs that stars with

the line "My song is love" is:yuck:

glad you like it though:up:

I re-listened to A Message, and it's not that bad, but i have to agree with xavi about the "my song is love" line :barf:

What bums me out about Coldplay is contradiction. Most of Chris Martin's lyrics come off as whiny, sophomoric, and pessimistic when in real life he's happily married, now has 2 kids, and's in one of the world's most popular bands.

that was a big fault in X&Y I think.

Every artist EVER does this. Just because you aren't experiencing heartbreak doesn't mean you can't write about it.
I'd be completely turned off to Coldplay if they wrote songs about happiness all the damn time. Life isn't that simple.

yeah, you're right.

it seemed like every song was downbeat or just some lame attempt at writing a touching song.

i have no problem with heartbreak songs, as long as they're done well.

Mayhaps some of the sad songs aren't even about Christof's personal experience.

Mayhaps.
