okay, we're talking rock here; no jazz or classical.
they can be synthesizers or piano.

mine (no order):

1. bittersweet symphony-the verve (synths)
2. clocks-coldplay (piano)
3. pretty good year-tori amos (piano)
4. every little thing she does is magic-the police (piano)
5. pyramid song-radiohead (piano)

including all i want is you, that for sure.

technically that's a real string quartet as far as I know. but damn fine for sure.

(I also think that HTDC is also real, but your heart's in the right place).:sexywink:

by the way, before anyone responds with billy joel or elton john, they have to be "riffs", no composed chord structures that take a real pianist to play (ny state of mind, piano man, your song).

on the same topic, no corny shit would be preferable.

Didn't The Verve rip that off of the Stones anyway?

No, the part was taken from a symphonic tribute record of Stones tunes. The part is also hardley audible, not the main string riff.

I think I hate this riff like no other riff. I remember hearing that song for over an hour repeatedly at a buffet in Indonesia, like 15 years ago. It was a torture - the food was good though.
