Tsk.. damn...

For 2001, it's been a fairly bad year in music..

Off the bat, I would say -

Gorillaz - Gorillaz
Diana Krall - The Look of Love
No Doubt - Rock Steady
Depeche Mode - Exciter
Sarah Brightman - Classics

musicforthemorningafter--Pete Yorn
Gold--Ryan Adams
Amnesiac--Radiohead

uhhhhhh...

This is hard.

Although I haven't heard this one in its entirety yet...

Motherland--Natalie Merchant

I can't even list Tori's new CD. After Venus and Strange Little Girls, I don't think she'll ever do as great as Boys For Pele ever again. Which depresses me. At one point, I think I loved her more than Bono.

(HERESY!)

How sad. I have searched my room for more, but I haven't bought many CDs this year. And the ones I've bought have been catalog, like A Century Ends by David Gray. Well, I guess I'll leave it at four.

The Latin Americans have the sexy end[of Catholicism]~BonoBaby~

7:00pm Bono plays Tetris on Powerbook instead of writing lyrics.

Ummm.... wasn?t ATYCLB released Jan. 2001?
Or did I miss one year? Many real fans here... ok skip that.

Tricky "Blowback" 10 out of 10.
Tori Amos gets my vote "Strange little girls"
Macy Gray "The ID"
Lenny Kravitz "Lenny"
Marijah?s "Spirit of a woman"

Did AniDiFranco release Reckoning/ Revelling this year?
Great live concerts after the 9/11, too.
"Redemption song will be remembered.
Still gotta listen to the new Cypress Hill and Prince joints... said to be mediocre.
Bj?rk?s Vespertine... well, so - so.
MJ? No, it was the most expensive one, but fo sho not the best except for a few ballads and Carlos jammin.
Disappointed, like always, by Radiohead (the only song that I liked was Creep, sorry). Better not mention The Strokes, Blink 182, Creed, Gorillaz, Fred Durst and countless other unimportant discs. Britney Schpears? But not for me!

In this list it is only about Pop/ Rock, right? Yeees Herbie Hancock is Jazz. Good album, too, to conclude with some positivity.

honorable mention goes to the windy hero himself ---> mr. methane!

"flatulate the conga" may just be one of the most rousing dance songs of the entire year. it was criminal of me to leave him out.

The Strokes aren't important but Lenny Kravitz is? Okaaaay... Radiohead's Amnesiac was very cool too.

Pete Yorn is awesome. The next Springsteen, but somehow seeming more relevant to me.

And how are those albums by Sigur Ros and White Stripes? I've heard a lot of good things about them.

P.S. ATYCLB came out in October 2000
