God damn, 2006 was a great year for movies wasn't it?

These were my favorites:

1. V for Vendetta -nearly perfect in every way

2. Little Miss Sunshine -beautiful dark comedy, made me cry my eyes out second time seeing it

3. Children of Men - Oh, good lord, the camera, the camera

4. Casino Royale - Bond is back for reeeels

5. The Prestige - Christopher Nolan is a genius

6. The Departed - Not Marty's best by a long shot, but still kicks ass

7. The Fountain - simply gorgeous

8. Rocky Balboa - Best Rocky film since the original? You bet.

9. Lady in the Water - just because it restored my faith in shamalan after The Village

10. Borat - Just hilarious if not that good of a film

And there are a lot of gems of the year I have yet to see, such as The Last King of Scottland, The Queen, Blood Diamond, Pan's Laberynth and Babel.

I'll bite:

1. Children of Men
2. Little Miss Sunshine
3. V for Vendetta
4. The Prestige
5. Casino Royale
6. Borat: Cultural Learnings of America Make Benefit for Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
7. Stranger Than Fiction
8. Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
9. Thank You for Smoking
10. Snakes on a Plane

I still need to see The Departed and the rest you listed, but yeah. My list is based mainly around rewatchability, I can watch all 10 of these movies and still enjoy them almost as much as the first viewing.

The Top 4 are among the best of the entire decade.

1. Pan's Labyrinth
2. V for Vendetta (does this count since it officially came out in 05?...anyways i love it!)
3. Children of Men

6. Borat
7.Talladega Nights
8.Thank You For Smoking

V for Vendetta was definitely released in theatres in 2006. It was filmed in '05, though...

Anyway, I'd rather wait until I've seen more of the token great films of 2006 before I list my faves

Don't mock other people's opinions.

On topic, I've only seen one movie that's been named so far...and that was a recent rental. :reject: I don't keep up on movies very well.

3. Lawrence of Arabia
4. Lawrence of Arabia
5. Lawrence of Arabia
6. Lawrence of Arabia
7. Lawrence of Arabia
8. Lawrence of Arabia
9. Lawrence of Arabia
10. Lawrence of Arabia

See elevation2u said "Labyrinth" as an obvious reference to "Pan's Labyrinth" and I (always the smart ass) made a reference to the 1986 fantasy film Labyrinth by Jim Henson staring David Bowie...

See what I did there? Pure comic genius if I do say so myself. :hi5:

Children of Men, The Good Shepherd, The Presige, Talladega Nights, Borat, The Departed

V for Vendetta is a joke. i think it tried to be an amazing film but it turned out just to be shit. i can't believe people thought that movie was better than Children of Men, or The Prestige, or even The Departed

I can't believe you liked The Good Shepherd. That movie was approximately 3 hours too long.

10 I really enjoyed, with no real order...although it's telling that Children of Men comes to mind first.

Babel
Flight 93/United 93
Blades of Glory
Little Children
The Departed
An Inconvenient Truth

I'd hate to see the "Mickey Blue Eyes" of CIA movies if that's the case. :barf:

hahahaha--oh, wait :shame:

Rocky Balboa and Babel were my 2 least favorite movies of 2006 :yuck:

Just reading "Rocky Balboa" makes me laugh. I bet I'd love it

You should watch Babel again. It's about how we're all connected...all of us...EVERY ONE :bono: :bonodrum: :bono:

At least we both liked the Planet Earth nature series

I don't have a top ten because I don't think I even watched ten movies this year. Of the few I did watch, The Prestige was my favourite.

Yeah Prestige was good. Don't really remember any other movies or at least cool ones with clones.

I haven't seen Rocky Balboa, but I didnt think it was going to actually be a good movie. I'll have to watch it then.
