My sister and I are each getting $1,000, which really surprised us since he's always so protective over his money. The first thing my mom said when he announced this to us? "They better put it away in their bank accounts. You know the first thing Barbara will do is blow it all on stuff she doesn't need or... U2 concerts!"

My mom knows me too well.

Before she said anything, I was thinking about how I could attend the Boston shows in May if I bought tickets on ebay or possibily plan a trip to Dublin in July/August.

It kills me that I can't spend that money though.

Maybe your Dad will want to give you another $1000 to play with :hmm:

My dad won $25,000 on a slot machine at the casino last night. Well, they took away about $8,000 for taxes or whatever, so $17,000.

The thought of that alone is so

Hypothetical situation #1: Boston concert on May 26th as a "graduation present" for my sister. (She's graduating from high school 2 days before the concert.)

2 GAs on ebay: about $380 :yikes:

Price: exactly $900 for a roundtrip flight and hotel stay from May 25 - May 27.

I wonder if I could convince my parents into allowing us to do this. :hmm:

If you get tickets for May 26th, you'll be my bestest friend, even though you have no idea who I am :)

Ask them...really

If the gift option is in the same price range you could make a really argument for the U2 trip. Something she really wants as opposed to something else that she doesn't

Well, I didn't get the McCartney tickets. :sigh:

 neither did i. i forgot they went on sale this morning, despite waking up several times yesterday morning thinking i overslept and missed when they went on sale. i checked about 15 min ago, and there was another date added, and ticketmaster didn't want to give me tickets for that one either.

 to all the McCartney people. That stinks. :(

I sugar-coated the difficult conversation. :| :banghead:

:hyper: Amazon has shipped my book and I didn't even have to write them a bitchy e-mail!! :D

 wells

i just got home and didn't see him actually pitching earlier, but i do think that he's responsible for the 7-3 score right now.

I got my Bono book!:hyper: Do I have to go to work tomorrow or can I stay home and read it all day. I would rather stay at home, esp. now that T has retired officially..............I am feeling hungover from the emotion of the day.:sigh:

Sorry about the lack of McCartney tickets:hug:. I guess the line here was quite incredible this morning.

fah, you almost gave me a heart attack! :shame: Do not lose the U2 tickets! Glad you found them; cleaning is overrated
