Tool Appreciation Thread & New album news

'Jambi' is one of the most unbelievably beautiful things i've ever heard in my entire life...
unfucking real.
i LOVE tool
thank god or whatever it is for those dudes.

Yes, Jambi kicks ass.

There are a lot of rumblings about this being a "decoy album" and the real product we get on May 2 will be something completely different. I haven't really looked heavily into any of the "clues" people are listing in support of this theory, but I'm pretty sure that's a load of shit. I don't see anyone recording a 76 minute album, and a damned good one at that, just to throw people off. Of course, I could be completely wrong, because if one band is out there enough to do something like that, it's these guys. I guess we'll see in nine days.

And how'd it go on tickets, Anu?

That smug bastard and his bed shittings. :grumpy:

On that note, I think Rosetta Stoned is my least favorite song on the album. That is of course not including Viginti Tres, Lipan Conjuring (which I actually get a kick out of), and Lost Keys. I do really like how Lost Keys leads into Rosetta Stoned, just don't like the song.

The Wings tandem is still the highlight of the record to me.

Listened to "Vicarious" again today on the way home from a weekend away. Really, we have a strong desire to see this first leg and not wait for the arena leg.

But not only could we not get legit ticks on Saturday, E-Bay alone has 94 auctions for the show we want to see.

Professional scalping has become a serious business. We will probably pay a premium, but we haven't decided what our limit is yet.

Should we end up going, I promise to post my review-reflections here.

What's the best TOOL site to start checking for setlists as the tour unfolds?

at first i was like "wtf, mate" but now lost keys -> rosetta stoned is my favorite part of the album.

I'm so glad I've got tickets for an arena show Dusseldorf, Germany. They're only playing a festival in the Netherlands and there haven't been any Irish dates announched yet, so I'm very lucky.

Haven't heard the new album yet as I haven't got Soulseek or anything like that (have to use my work computer, no internet at home). Will wait patiently, I guess.

Also, feel free to post any new album news as it comes.

Posted on May 10, 2005. A year later and here it is.

I've got a pounding headache and my eyes feel really strange. Thanks a lot, 10,000 Days packaging.

very pretentious and boring

also people who tend to like them are usually freaks and serial killers

so you think everyone here are freaks and/or serial killers?

well you're RIGHT

I need to go buy that album. I haven't heard a thing off it. It makes me sad that Tool are not on iTunes

wow. you've just said a lot more about yourself than you have about people who like tool.

since we're not allowed to tell people to fuck off around here, i guess that doesn't leave a whole lot else for me to say to you.

and that mr. se7en sure gets around. :sexywink:

10000 days artwork is incredible

that i believe. i'm hoping a) we got a copy at the radio station and b) the asshole who will steal it (because it will get stolen) will wait until after friday to swipe it.

Anyone score tickets for this upcoming theater tour? I don't think I'll get to go. :(

Alrighty then
Picture this if you will

10 to 2 AM
And actually eating up an old box of Krispy Kremes
And my need-to-know potion.
I was just outside Area 51
Contemplating the whole chosen people thing
When a flaming stealth banana split the sky like, wide open.
I never expected to see it in a place like this.
I do believe I spilled a diamond sundae
Or something wet on my Birkenstocks
And [you're yelping]
Holy fucking shit

Then the x-file beings who were like
some kind of blue-grey [Jackie Chan]
With Isabella Rossellini lips and breath that reeked
[They're wicked-shot terrorists all by making the sound]
abananadabanana so when I opened up my bug eyes, my gaping jaw and my sweaty lower and upper lip
And all I could think was
I hope that my partner here doesn't notice
that I pissed my fucking pants

So alive in this way
Like an apparition
You have me crying out
Fuck me
It's got to be
Dead head
Chemistry
The blotter got
On top of me
Got me seeing
E mother-fucking T

And after calming me down with some orange slices
And some fetal spooning
The ET revealed to me his singular purpose
He said you are the chosen one
The one who'll deliver the message
A message of hope for those who chose to hear it
And a warning for those who do not
Me, the chosen one, they chose me
And I didn't graduate from fucking high school

You had better...
You had better...
You had better...
You had better listen

When he looked right through me
With somniferous almond eyes
Don't even know what that means
Must remember to write it down
This is surreal
Like the time they floated away
See, my heart is pounding
Cause this shit never happens to me

I can't breathe right now

It was surreal
Like I woke up in Wonderland
All sort of terrifying
I don't want to be all alone
When I tell the story
And can anyone tell me why
It was a repeat experience
will I ever be coming down
This is surreal
Finally it's my lucky day
See my heart is racing
Cause this shit never happens to me

I can't breathe right now

You believe me don't you
Please believe what I just said
See they're telling the truth
And this wasn't all in my head
See they took me by the hand
And invited me right in
Then they showed me something
I don't even know where to begin

Strapped down my bed
Feet cold, eyes red
I'm out my head
Am I alive am I dead
Can't remember what they said
God damn shit the bed

hey hey

Overwhelmed as one would be placed in my position
Such a heavy burden now to be the one
Born to bear and read to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see
But I forgot my pen shit the bed again
Typical

Strapped down to my bed
Feet cold and eyes red
I'm out of my head
Am I alive am I dead
Sunkist and Sudafed
Gyroscopes and infrared
won't help the brain dead
Can't remember what they said

God damn shit the bed

I Can't remember what they said to me
Can't remember what they said to make me out to be
I can't remember what they said to me
Can't remember what they said

Don't know, oh no (repeated 12 times)

God damn shit the bed

First night of the small venues tour they opened with Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned.

How Maynard remembers all the ramblings in Rosetta Stoned is beyond me, but when I see them live, I plan on sounding off with a triumphant "SHIT THE BED!"

Congrats, Anu.

Dallas is tonight and I'm stuck down here for finals, not that I could have afforded/come across a ticket anyway. I hope you have a great time, Anu.
