Green Day not mainstream enough? Are you kidding??

We're talking about "NFL mainstream", I don't think the band that wrote American Idiot is exactly what the NFL is looking for...

REM, hmmm a gay man in make up singing anti-Republican songs, I'm sure the NFL would love it.

The Police would be perfect, old, safe, and everyone knows knows their three greatest hits.

What a whole lot of bitching.

Petty is an underappreciated American great.

Yeah, he was lip-synching. idiots.:|

Did anyone else notice just about everyone on stage had a mike? and was singing as well.

He can be very, very bland.

They didn't even play Refugee, their best song by a long shot.

If you don't like good songs, this is true.

He didn't play any of them except for Free Fallin' at the half time show. Runnin' Down A Dream and I Won't Back Down are relatively boring songs.

You got a problem with Refugee? Refugee > anything they played at the half time show.

See, now Free Fallin' bores me to tears. I'd rather listen to American Girl and I Won't Back Down 50 times in a row than Free Fallin' once.

I like Petty well enough, but thought it was a sleepy performance.

I was just getting into it when it ended

Tough to choose songs for a 15 minute set, but I was glad to hear American Girl

ETA: I guess I concur with hubby's post above. Now log in as yourself, dammit :grumpy:
