On January 1st, 1990, I was 5 years old. On December 31st, 1999, I was 15. Most of who I am was formed in that decade, and a lot of what formed me outside of my family and friends is pop-culture. The pop culture of the 1990s, 1990-1994 ESPECIALLY, is very important to me. I have not watched/listened to/played/otherwise experienced all of the following, but I have experienced a lot of it. And what I haven't experienced, others have. Should anyone else come up with anything else that I haven't thought of that I think should be there, I may edit them into the post. Without further ado...

What a decade... kinda grey, kinda ironic, kinda everything, yet nothing.

The 80's were music, fashion and hair
The 90's were TV, music, and no clothes to match

the decade of ZOO TV

What I wouldn't give to be able to go back and live 1990-1994 again as an adult

In 1990, I had already served the public with 18 years of service..I was seeing/dating "this gal" with no expectation that it would last any longer than the next week...........

We're now together 17 years, married for almost ten and you can call her Bono's American Wife...she's Pop-culture at its finest.! :) she taught me the way of life and U-2.

1994
Nirvana Unplugged From New York

And Eric Clapton's Unplugged is in there somewhere too.

P.S. My COBL buildup edit is ready and posted in its thread btw.

Yes, I did miss Out Of Time which is :drool:worthy. But I don't care all that much for In Utero or Unplugged (whether it's Nirvana or Clapton).

That's a shame...In Utero has some songs(Dumb, Heart-Shaped Box, Francis Farmer..., Pennyroyal Tea, All Apologies) that I think are better than a lot of the songs on the overrated(but still good) Nevermind. Nirvana Unplugged is an eerie farewell for Cobain, who left us VERY soon afterwards.

That's the sad thing....it really does feel that in just six or seven years, SO SO SO much has changed. Pop culture...music is down the tubes, TV is holding on, movies are declining in quality....video games suck anymore because companies are selling consoles intead of games(i.e.PS2 will play PS2/PS1 games, CDs, MP3 CDs, DVDs, VCDs, will make your coffee and turn your car on, cut your grass, etc) and as such the games have declined MAJORLY in quality and gameplay....politics...let's not go there....pre-9/11 vs post-9/11...SO SO SO much has changed in so little time.

Of course, your entire sporting list neglects the events of actual significance that happened in the sporting world, such as when South Africa stole the 1995 Rugby World Cup off New Zealand, or earlier in the competition when Jonah Lomu trampled all over opposing teams (I'm looking at you, England).

Don't forget your LucasArts games! Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, Sam&Max(??) All classics of the era.

And also, the Broken Sword series started in the '90s- the start of something special...........

You wrote that list yourself? :yikes: You have a really good memory, lol!

I actually keep meaning to have an afternoon listening to all my favourite CDs from the nineties but I haven't got round to it yet. :reject:

I'll post again when I'm done reminiscing.

oh man.. yeah the 90's... when they started I was 8 and started to develope a concious for that culture (since the east German wall was finally gone as well ;))
I am especially remembering the 2nd half of the 90's :)
lot's of good stuff

did someone mention the Teenage Mutant Heero Turtles movies? Or was that 80's?
