I cracked myself up by saying I'd fight someone over disrespecting Air Supply......but, we all know I crack myself up, sorry.

Back to the Spartans and Athenians! The Peloponnesian (sp?) War....discuss.

Beav...as a father of a newborn...how the fuck are you still up? I was tired all the time...musta been all the breast feeding...:shifty:

I dunno, really. I actually took a nap today, which I never do. I was up with the baby til after 1, and now I'm just unwinding I guess. But I do keep meaning to go to sleep, really. I just never quite make it.

You know what would be awesome? If as the Persians are approaching the Spartan's at their last stand, the Persians call out for the Spartan leader, and he climbs out on a rock, all proud and undaunted with his sword and shield and in reply to the Persians yells, "HERE I AM!"
and then one his idiot friends yells out, "The one that I love?" and some wiseass Persian calls out, "You asking for another day?"

Hey Snow...and of course we're hypocrites...we're men.

NSW, yes...strange, sad movie. What a fucked up life. Look I'm no angel and I've tried a 'controlled' substance once or twice in my life, but to be consumed by it...

And what a fucked up way to die...to be blugedeoned by lead pipes...ye-ouch!! John Holmes was one fucked up dude...:coocoo:

Ah the whole drug culture unnerves me...look I like a drink now and then, but wow for people to be consumed by it? How does Beav do it? :shifty:

How did John Holmes go from the guy with the biggest dork to AIDS victim...heroin and porn my friends....:tsk:

I was not trying to seduce a gay guy - it wasn't even the same one from my journal :tsk:

Really - at this point I wouldn't be wasting my time seducing anyone who was not all about hetero interaction. :grumpy:

Wonderland - I don't know that either :( - I have got to get caught up on my 20thC stuff - oh shit - we're 21 now right?

No Holmes set up his drug dealer friend to be robbed. His friend determined that Holmes had a part in the robbery and kicked the shit out of him until he gave his cohorts up. Then he was forced to take a posse of revenge takers up to the place where his cohorts were and possibly forced to bludgeon them to death.

It was a pretty sick ending...but it was interesting or fascinating.

Wonderland - saw something about that on a show the other day. Something about how Holmes was hooked on drugs and the wrong crowd, and died. I had a friend thru Jr. High & High School who lived on Wonderland Ave. (same street, but don't know where the murder house was)

You should be seducing me...but I'm already in your hip pocket...so that'd be no fun...

It was both interesting and fascinating, and unnverving too.

Snow, just focus on the 21st century, forget what's past.

And, yes, Reg, the whole drug culture freaks me out, for a few reasons.

journal? :confuzzled:

I've never heard of Wonderland. Is it any good?

Reg - it takes skill, patience and most importantly, and incredible capacity to live in denial.

Yes I remember the story of your parents selling your twin for rock cocaine...it would bother me a bit too.

:shifty:

How about my Dad pimping out my Mom in the South Bronx? That was not pleasant. They'd also test out new product on me, thank goodness it had no real negative impact on me iwillkillyou at all.

Yeah, catch on the IFC channel if you get it. Val Kilmer and Lisa Kudrow star in it.

You know I've been to Nevada, Utah, Pennsylvania, Georgia and NY but my favorite state is the state of denial...
