Best new comedy since Arrested Development?
I was so pissed off when they canceled this show, but with Steve Carell and Co.......I have a new favorite.
I love this show. Every single character is great and it will just get better....

If you haven't seen this show, give it a try.....you'll thank me later.

We must be the same person, since I agree with everything you just said.

Gotta love Dwight though, he's the best.

The english version is better! (I caught the american office when i was in new york..its funny, but the actors aren't as good I don't think)

I agree with you there, RedrocksU2. The Office..............................................................................is definitely the best new comedy since the dearly departed Arrested Development.

Season 3 of The Office...........................................premieres on September 21st!

I agree. And while he's a minor character, I can't get enough of Creed.

"I steal things from around the office, I just stopped caring a long time ago"

and his Mungo beans that smell like death :lmao:

Best Episode: The Injury, hands down

but my favorite Office moment is the "Afghanistanis with AIDS" conversation from Casino Night: http://www.youtube.com/v/1soPf9p7F-0

And I was glad to see NBC promote the hell out of this show as time went on, they're doing everything FOX should've done for AD.

My favorite Creed moment is from The Carpet. Everyone's grossed out over the smell of shit coming from Michael's office and suddenly Creed walks in: "Hey guys, somebody making soup?"

Great show. It really took off on its own in the second season.

American version is a poor cousin compared to the british version , honestly.

:eyebrow:
There's something wrong with the phrases "Season 3" and "The Office".
:sigh:

When it first started airing, I thought it was okay, but not nearly as good as the British version. But then it really came into its own, became its own show and is one of the best things on American TV these days.

Haha I love the Office. Had a lot of downtime during the summer so not only did I work my way through both seasons of the Office, but seasons 1-6 of ST: TNG.

Woot woot woot.

Love the office though

The Office is my favorite current comedy.

I love the one with Michael's birthday, where Dwight gets him the hockey jersey with "FROM DWIGHT" where the name is supposed to be, and Michael confuses a negative cancer test result for being positive.

I absolutely adore the British version, but I think this show is just as good. I'm so glad NBC gave it a second chance after its 1st season, allowing it to gain momentum. I watched from the beginning, and I was seriously worried it would get cancelled. Phew. LOL. I've always been a huge fan of Steve (mainly from his The Daily Show days) and it's just a great cast all around. I especially love Phyllis! *G*

Meh, never really understood why this series was needed, in the same way that Coupling was reshot for American audiences. Aside from Steve Carell which was fantastic casting..this doesn't hold a candle to the original and better UK version.

I find myself intrigued by your subvocal oscillations,
a singular development of cat communications,
that obviates your basic hedonistic predilection,
for a rhythmic stroking of your fur to demonstrate affection.

He just kept talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no one had a chance to interrupt. It was really quite hypnotic.

gonna get some british office up then u will understand

Look, a lot of us have seen both versions and love both versions. Is it okay with you if we love both? Does it have to be a freaking competition?

I love the brilliant Ricky Gervais and it's never a bad thing to see clips of him, but it feels like the people who say "the British one is way better" feel threatened by us saying how much we like the US version.

Guys, I agree with the above, this is not a competition on which one is better
I have never seen the British version, but I am sure that it's great. Btw, Ricky Gervais is the Executive Producer for the American version as well.

I was stunned when Tony Shaloub won the Emmy over Steve Carell for Best comedy performance by a male.
I like Tony, but there is just no comparison.
