So what exactly do you do for your work anyways? Just make all the phone calls you complain about?

Pretty much

If i'm not making phone calls I'm entering data into a computer, organizing sheets of calls that either to be made, have been made, or need to be scanned. I do all the tedious work no one else wants to do.

no. It's to identify what the issues are that are important to voters, figure out who's going to vote for who, or if they're undecided, and what party they consider themselves a part of.
