Guess what song popped into my head while I was driving back from work...

Shake Your Head (Let's Go To Bed) - Was (Not Was) from 1992.

Can you think of anything as obscure as this one? :nerd:

You're an obsession, You're my obsession
Who do you want me to be to make you sleep with me?

That one?

I heard this one today: I Can't Wait - Nu Shooz. How's that for obscurity! :D

 Nooo..... this one:

I could wait night and day
Sigh your name when I pray
In my heart night and day
'Til you come my way
I could wait night and day
Be the sky blue or grey
In my heart night and day
For your love to stay

...Obsession!

:macdevil:

Man, was that a distant memory!!! :crack:

7th house - gypsy queen

so obscure i don't even know what it was. i found it on a tape i made sometime around 2000. it was pretty bad, though.

Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

I met a hula mistress somewhere in Waikiki
Well she was sellin' pineapple, playin' ukulele
And when I went to the girl, come on and teach me to sway
She laughed and whispered to me, yes come tonight to the bay

The lovely beach, in the sky the moon of Kauai
Around calypso sarong we'll all be singin' this song

Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

And down on the shore they gather romance
She showed me much more, not only to dance...

Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees

[and so on....]

I think the Brits were responsible for Agadoo. There was even a dance to it. That and the Birdy Song (which also had its own unique dance) were always played at kids parties - childhood growing up in 1980's Britain was not good. :slant:

I'm thinking some answers here fall more into the "random!" category than the obscure category.

Here's one... maybe. "The Sweater" by Meryn Cadell. :)

That's a really famous song from the 80s. :)

yep. many of these aren't obscure songs as much as they are songs by artists that have faded into obscurity...

Definitely a one hit wonder anyway.

Top ten hit (#7). I had the 45 when I was a kid.

also, throw Thomas Dolby in there, neither of these songs were obscure in America. She Blinded Me With Science hit #5 in America.

To put that in context One by U2 didn't hit as high as either of those songs (#10). Not to mention they were on MTV when MTV actually played videos.

"Three Strange Days" by School of Fish has become pretty obscure, as the years have marched by.

I still hear several of these other songs with at least passing regularity on radio stations, so I'm not sure something like "She Drives Me Crazy," for example, can really be called "obscure"...

Hunters & Collectors - True Tears Of Mine... from 1993 or so.

I think they're Australian. I couldn't find anything of theirs on itunes!

I think it's gonna be hard to get more obscure than this!

^ Hunnas?? Obscure??? Not in Australia, they're fucking huuuuggge!!!!!!
