THIS FRIDAY 30TH APRIL WE WILL BE PLAYING OUR NEW SINGLE
ON THE "TONIGHT SHOW" WITH JAY LENO ON US TV NETWORK NBC

FOR UK FANS IT WILL BE SHOWN ON THE DIGITAL CHANNEL FTN ON MAY 1ST AT MIDNIGHT

In related news, u2popmofo will have a heartattack while watching the Tonight Show this Friday

sweet.

i'm actually listening to the cure now. song from your mix, mr. mofo.

p.s. i really liked the tiger army.

In more related news, HG was stumped while watching Subterranean late Sunday night by the song "Snowflakes" by Just Jack...until mofo came along, was forced to listen to the song, made the Cure connection, and saved HG's sanity and general well-being.

It may be a blatant Cure rip-off, but I like it nonetheless.

I'm also eager to hear the new single, what with the interesting choice of producer for this album and all.

I agree, I liked the song too. And I agree that I'm excited to hear the new song, very much so!

For some weird reason, this makes me smile. I hope you have some paramedics on call!!

I can't stand Leno, but I'll have to watch :)

This is pretty crazy considering they havent even officially released a date for the album (though I've seen many rumors on different sites).

I think it's cool that the first time the single will be heard is live  I'm really hoping I can find a mp3 of it soon after!

Did everyone read in the latest EW about the rumored CureFest? Something about The Cure taking bands like The Rapture and Interpol on tour with them? :faint:

shit...i'm going to forget. and chances are i'm doing things at that time. checking tv listings...

bah.

I have to admit that I personally really dug the song

Definitely a poppy single, which they always seem to have at least one or two on each album, but still really good

I'd never heard an audience cheering through out the entire song on a show like Leno before, very cool.

I'll be looking for it online this week. I'll make a post here if I find it somewhere.

It had more of a contemporary rock type sound to it, hard to explain. I dug it though. Pretty good for a first impression.

Sometimes the internet is good:

I've already found a few diff. copies of the performance.

Here are the lyrics to the song, the title is :

'The End of the World'

Go if you want to
I never tried to stop you
no is a reason
for all of this you're feeling
Love its not my call
You couldnt ever love me more
you couldnt love me more
you couldnt love...

Me i dont show much
its far too hard to hide you
see in a moment
a song too far
to let you
be all you wanted
i couldnt ever love you more
i couldnt love you more
i couldnt love...
you want me to cry and play my part
i want you to sigh and fall apart
we want this like everyone else

stay if you want to
i always wait to hear you
say theres a last kiss
for all the times you run this
wait its not my call
you couldnt ever love me more
you couldnt love me more
you couldnt love...

love me more...
couldnt ever love me more
I couldnt love you more
I couldnt love...

you want me to lie not break your heart
i want you to sigh and fall apart
we want this like everyone else
oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh

maybe we didnt understand
its just the end of the world
oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh oooh

maybe we didnt understand
like just a boy and a girl
Its just the end of the...end of the world

me i dont say much
its far too hard to hide you
see in a moment
i cant remember how to
be all you wanted
i couldnt ever love you more
i couldnt love you more
i couldnt love you more
i couldnt love you more
i couldnt love..you..more...
