Has anyone heard Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings? She/they have an album out, and from what I've heard, it's a great old throwback soul album. If I recall correctly, I read that some of the songs were written by songwriters who'd written for James Brown, or someone else like that ... or something like that.

I might just be crazy.

OMG I love this album!!! I didn't know anybody else had heard of them! Great stuff. I listen to it regularly.

I have to say, I prefer Sam Cooke's version. I think I just prefer his voice.

However, I do really like Otis' version of "Cupid."

I really liked it, but not as much as the Sam Cooke track. It's an incredible song and I'm sure I would've liked Redding's version more if I hadn't heard Cooke's first.
