For example: my name is Abigail, and I know of 2 songs that are actually *titled* "Abigail": one is by Ryan Adams (thank you Bonochick!) and one is by a Scottish folk band called the Corries.

"Abigail" by Ryan Adams:

Abigail won't you take me to to the willow tree
And when we get there,
I hope you'll recite Japanese
What does it mean to win, I ask myself again
Abigail, don't pretend

Pretty flowers crush his heart on a world of make-believe
Whispers floating words so soft,
Hands go walking down my sleeve
Hold my hand, Oh Abigail
And tell me everything
Hold my hand, Oh Abigail
I wont let go for anything

Abigail won't you take me to to the willow tree
Nighttime comes on strong
But she is the sudden
Hold my hand, Oh Abigail
And tell me everything
Hold my hand, Oh Abigail
I won't let go for anything

"Abigail" by the Corries:

On the bosom of young Abigail
was written the price of her tail;
And upon her behind
for the use of the blind
was the same information in Braille.

Anyone else know songs with their names in them?

Amanda by Boston

Babe, tomorrow's so far away
There's somethin' I just have to say
I don't think I could hide
What I'm feelin' inside
Another day
Knowin' I love you

And I -- I'm gettin' too close again
I don't wanna see it end
If I tell you tonight
Will you turn out the light
And walk away
Knowin' I love you?

I'm gonna take you by surprise
And make you realize
Amanda
I'm gonna tell you right away
I can't wait another day
Amanda
I'm gonna say it like a man
And make you understand
Amanda
I love you

And, I feel like today's the day
I'm lookin' for the words to say
Do you wanna be free
Are you ready for me
To feel this way?
I don't wanna lose ya

So it may be too soon I know
The feelin' takes so long to grow
If I tell you today
Will you turn me away
And let me go?
I don't wanna lose you

I'm gonna take you by surprise
And make you realize
Amanda
I'm gonna tell you right away
I can't wait another day
Amanda
I'm gonna say it like a man
And make you understand
Amanda
I love you

You and I -- I know that we can't wait
And I swear -- I swear it's not a lie girl
Tomorrow may be too late
You -- you and I girl -- we can share a life together
It's now or never
And tomorrow may be too late

And, feelin' the way I do
I don't wanna wait my whole life through
To say I'm in love with you

and......Mandy by Barry Manilow.

I remember all my life
Rainin' down as cold as ice
Shadows of a man
A face through a window
Cryin' in the night
The night goes into
Mornin', just another day
Happy people pass my way
Lookin' in their eyes
I see a memory
I never realized
How happy you made me, oh Mandy

Well you came and you gave without takin'
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
Well, you kissed me and stopped me from shakin'
And I need you today, oh Mandy

Standin' on the edge of time
Walked away when love was mine
Caught up in a world of uphill climbin'
The tears are in my mind
And nothing is rhymin', oh Mandy

Well you came and you gave without takin'
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
Well, you kissed me and stopped me from shakin'
And I need you today, oh Mandy
<instrumental>

Yesterday's a dream
I face the mornin'
Cryin' on a breeze
The pain is callin', oh Mandy

Well you came and you gave without takin'
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
Well, you kissed me and stopped me from shakin'
And I need you today, oh Mandy

You came and you gave without takin'
But I sent you away, oh Mandy
You kissed me and stopped me from shakin'
And I need you

Well, there is a song by Johnny Ferguson called "Angela Jones"-I've never heard the song itself, but I've heard about it...

But most of the songs have my nicknames in them, like "Angie" by the Rolling Stones (practically everyone I know calls me Angie anyway), and then there's tons with the word "Angel" in them (such as "Angel Of Harlem"), Aerosmith has one called "Angel", Sarah McLachlan has one with that name, and so on and so forth...

Angela

"Hello Kitty Kat" by Smashing Pumpkins...people always shorten my name to Kat, and I've had a few friends who called me Kitty Kat. Not a very happy song to be associated with though...

Say hello before you say goodbye
I should go before you make me cry
She wants to bleed every drop inside of me
But I am to please the little girl inside of me, too

Yeah, yeah
You know i hate to say it
Oh no, I always stay
I don't want to be like the others, please

Who is sorry now?
Who is sorry now?
If I show you how,
Will you let me down?

Slit my wrists and die a whore
Love to love to love what you adore
I can give you anything,
But please let me be your everything
You lose

Yeah, yeah
You know I hate to say it
Oh no, I always stay
I don't wanna be like the others, please

Who is sorry now?
If I show you how,
Will you let me down?
Will you let me down?
Who is sorry now?
Who is sorry now?

My love is weakness
My love is oh so wrong
My love is sadness
My love is oh so strong
My teeth are razor sharp
My love is fucking strong
I'll be with you
But not for long

Oh, oh, oh

Yeah, yeah
You know I hate to say it
Oh no, I always stay
I don't wanna be like the others, please

Who is sorry now?
Who is sorry now?
Who is sorry now?
If I show you how,
Will you let me down?
Will you let me down?
Please let me down
Please let me down

I have two songs about me...

Sweet Ryan- Neil Diamond

Superfreak- Rick James

Also nothing for me. With a name like Martijn I'm of course limited to songs in the Dutch language. And AFAIK no Dutch/Belgian artist has ever recorded something called/mentioning Martijn. Oh well...
BTW, does this make me a majority or a minority?

C ya!

Marty (who after this discovery thinks he's fairly unique :D)

Skasmopolitan - Slut Named Rachel  (my friends get a kick out of that!)

There's also a song by Jim Post called Rachel. He's a folk-rock type guy that my parents really like, and I suspect that's how they came up with my name.

Very unfortunately...

Jesse's Girl: Rick Springfield

:sigh:

:silent: geez, I LOVE that song!!!

Anyway:

Loose Lucy-the Grateful Dead
and of course,
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds-Beatles

When I first heard that song I was about 4 or 5 years old and I SWORE that I thought they actually wrote that song for me!! Hey when you're a kid, you think stupid things like that, ok? But I truly thought that tune was about me and I said, "How do the Beatles even know who I am???"

I only know of "Beth" by KISS:

Beth, I hear you callin'
But I can't come home right now
Me and the boys are playin'
But we just can't find the sound

Just a few more hours
And I'll be right home to you
I think I hear them callin'
Oh, Beth what can I do
Beth what can I do

You say you feel so empty
That our house just ain't a home
I'm always somewhere else
While you're always there alone

Just a few more hours
And I'll be right home to you
I think I hear them callin'
Oh, Beth what can I do
Beth what can I do

Beth, I know you're lonely
And I hope you'll be alright
'Cause me and the boys will be playin'
All night

The whole premise of this song =
