that might be a bit extreme.
and really

i should have just said this thread is about "the rat" by the walkmen.

studies have shown that no song has kicked ass quite so hard in this century, or any other.

the song makes me type so hard, the keys have melted into the very bottom of my laptop. my face is grim, and my palms sweaty as i try to comprehend the oceans of gore and the voids of endless ultraviolence that this song instills in me.

carrion, then.

I don't know if it makes me vomit blood, per se, but I did cough up some wicked phlegm after listening to this song.

It's worthy of any praise it gets.

I love The Rat.

I have not heard anything else by the Walkmen yet that is nearly as awesome as The Rat.

:hmm:

The horsemen are drawing nearer
On leather steeds they ride
They've come to take your life
On through the dead of night
With the four horsemen ride
Or choose your fate and die!!!

Daft Punk - Robot Rock
or, alternatively
Breakwater - Release the Beast

RELEASE THE BEAST!

I'll get back to you on my response, just wanted to say I love the thread title haha.

I love this one, Kill 'Em All is great

"The Rat" it's a great song

but I think for me is "Sleep" by Godspeed, amazing and apocalyptic

My Father My King by Mogwai. I was going to say Xmas Steps but then I remembered this 20 minute assault.

Well, I'm not into metal or industrial or stuff like that, so from my end a couple songs that immediately spring to my mind are:

"Scentless Aprentice" - Nirvana - In Utero
"Spin the Black Circle" - Pearl Jam - Vitalogy
"Kittens" - Underworld - Beacoup Fish
"Wish" - Nine Inch Nails - Broken [EP]

I'm sure I'll think of a few more later.

Electioneering busts my balls every time. It's gotta be the cowbell.

Correction: it is the cowbell.

i've always just been entertained watching jonny destroy his guitar.

with or without accompanying cowbell... ha

the rat is probably one of my top 5 all-time favourite songs.

damn, is it ever good.

as for vomiting-blood songs:

nin - ruiner
the refused - the new noise
ministry - just one fix
the distillers - hall of mirrors
queens of the stone age - feel good hit of the summer

...just off the top of my head

"ruiner" :up: :drool:

have you heard "thinking of a dream i had" by the walkmen . . . it's off the same album as "the rat" (bows + arrows).

thinking of a dream i had is frickin' amazing!!! it came out the same time "Vertigo" was released and when i heard it for the first time (they were supposed to be playing the "new U2" coming up very soon) i thought it was "vertigo" (since i had never heard the real vertigo before).

anyways, i was so excited and was loving the song, and then the vocals kicked in and i was like this isn't Bono . . . is it????

turns out, it wasn't. but that song kicks serious ass!
