So, I've developed this somewhat annoying habit lately of creating playlists and/or Mix CD's with themes. For example, I have the 'Blue eyes' theme, consisting of song with 'blue eyes' in the title or which mention Blue Eyes as a significant part of the song.

Right now I'm working on one with 'Rain' as the theme.

I thought maybe you all could help suggest some songs which I might otherwise have not thought of.
The songs can be of any genre, any era, any artist as I have a very broad spectrum of music which I listen to and enjoy.

Any Suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks! :D

The Rain Song by Led Zeppelin.
Plainsong by The Cure (I think it's Plainsong. The line is, "And it looks like rain you said, the wind was blowing like it's the end of the world you said, and it's so cold, like the cold if you were dead, and then you smile for a second"......Goddamn if that's not one the greatest songs of all time.)

Purple Rain - Prince

This should take up a good proportion of the CD as it is so long too:wink:

Does "rain" automatically have to be in the title?

Electrical Storm

Not at all, some songs which are most fitting to the theme(s) don't have the key word(s) in the title

"Rain" by the Cult

I know there's a zillion more.

As a mix-making madman, I am very interested in your mix tape/ playlist project, would love to see a mix tape trading movement emerge from this forum.

Great Idea

'Protection' by Masive Attack (with Tracey from Everything But The Girl singing), not quite about rain but it samples some rain effects at the end and evokes loads of images of rain.

Tom McRae's 'Sao Paulo Rain' is a wonderful song.

And of course (and I'm not being sarcastic here) 'Rainy Days and Mondays' is lovely, if a little cheesy 70s pop.
