No lists. No ties. One all-powerful, awe-inspiring, god-smacking album.

What's yours?

This is a difficult question, one that I've been trying to answer for a long time now. But I figure, this is actually an easier question to answer then "Favorite Album of All Time" because that's such a layered and personal and difficult decision to make.

But, to answer this question:

The Beatles - Abbey Road.

End of thread.

Kid A

contains the greatest song ever in "airbag".

there's 11 other reasons on that disk, too.

I thought you were serious for a second, then I saw the second reply.

It's a funny joke thread. I'll play along.

For my money, this honor is deserved by Led Zeppelin IV. A tour de force from start to finish, incorporating blues, folk, hard rock, funk, and just about everything in between into one sweeping epic. Even the cover art and gatefold design are superb.

the album gets credit for the deathbears alone.

the music is just a bonus, as far as i'm concerned.

still the best album of the past 7 years :p

Optimistic
Iidoteque
Motion picture soundtrack

and.............of course.................how to disappear completely...

and never be found..........

i still don't know if i love or hate kid a's production.

and i mean that in terms of it being too quiet. i love how cold it is... but songs like the national anthem and idioteque could have been even more chaotic... like their live performances indicate.

listening to that album is such a rewarding experience..

I think the songs you mentioned work in the context of the entire album, but had to be more chaotic to work live as standalone songs.

which is why i think it makes more sense that they are what they are.

but well put, nevertheless.

Speaking of Kid A, National Anthem is totally inspired by Pink Floyd's Narrow Way II... starting right from that intro!
