How do threads get handjobs?

I look into his eyes
They're closed but I see something
A teacher told me why
I laugh when old men cry

My body grows and grows
It frightens me you know
The old man tried to walk me home
I thought he should have known

HANDJOB...
HANDJOB, lost my way
HANDJOB, can't find my way

In the shadow COCK meets HAND
In the shadow COCK meets HAND
In the shadow COCK meets HAND
In the shadow COCK meets HAND

I'm running in the rain
I'm caught in a late night play
It's all; it's everything
I'm soaking through the skin

HANDJOB...darkened day
HANDJOB...lost my way
HANDJOB...night and day
HANDJOB...can't find my way

Can't find your way
Can't find my way
Can't find your way

HANDJOB...darkened day
HANDJOB...lost my way
HANDJOB...night and day
HANDJOB...can't find my way

In the shadow COCK meets HAND
In the shadow COCK meets HAND
In the shadow COCK meets HAND
In the shadow COCK meets HAND

And that's how Irvine became a member of the elite fraternity of Cockscribers.

and what's really cool, and something i point out every chance i get, is that you don't need to change the verses at all to make them about a furtive homoerotic encounter.

Wasn't the whole album considered a little light in the loafers?

yes. this is what i keep telling people. and then some people get mad and call me a bully.

Irvine, that's a really interesting thread there. I skimmed through it just now and saw that you brought up the possible homosexual overtones in Backstreets. There is another Bruce song, off of his debut album, called Mary Queen of Arkansas. Not sure if you're familiar with it, I would guess that you are. But, yeah, I had a buddy in high school who loved that song and always claimed that the male narrator/protagonist in that song is talking about an affair with another male...possibly a transvestite. The title of the song alone is a big clue.

Had totally forgotten about that until now. Lyrics -

Mary Queen of Arkansas, it's not too early for dreamin'
The sky is grown with cloud seed sown and a bastard's love can be redeeming
Mary, my queen, your soft hulk is reviving
No, you're not too late to desecrate, the servants are just rising.
Well I'm just a lonely acrobat, the live wire is my trade
I've been a shine boy for your acid brat and a wharf rat of your state
Mary, my queen, your blows for freedom are missing
You're not man enough for me to hate or woman enough for kissing

The big top is for dreamers, we can take the circus all the way to the border
And the gallows wait for martyrs whose papers are in order
But I was not born to live to die and you were not born for queenin'
It's not too late to infiltrate, the servants are just leavin'

Mary queen of Arkansas, your white skin is deceivin'
You wake and wait to lie in bait and you almost got me believin'
But on your bed Mary I can see the shadow of a noose
I don't understand how you can hold me so tight and love me so damn loose.

But I know a place where we can go Mary
Where I can get a good job and start all over again clean
I got contacts deep in Mexico where the servants have been seen.
