i'm really a mix of both of my parents, personality-wise, but my dad and i are definitely cut from the same cloth. i can be very talkative, but i suck at just randomly coming up with conversation. i'd ask him how work was but that's about all i could think of. and who the fuck wants to talk about work when they're not at work, unless they need to vent?

I can never pull conversation out of nowhere. I'm good at talking about things I know about, or something that's happening/recently happened etc, but pulling a conversation topic out of thin air? Can't do.
Haha, same. When I'm at my father's and reading a book in my room, he'll ask me to come out into the lounge and socialise ... I'll just keep reading my book and he'll flick through the paper or a wine magazine.
Right now, if I were in the lounge - like I was for a couple of hours before I came on here - I'd either just be watching TV or asleep.
