A lot of people were bitching about how long it took Skynyrd to get in. I think Charlie Daniels even started an internet petition. Must be a southern thing?
 
hmmm, three of the most influential innovators in their respective genres. plus bullshit southern rock and an entertaining if disposable punk band.

doesn't matter, i've long since written off the r&r hall of fame as a joke.

I think it's fine for what it is, as long as you don't get fooled into believing it is the end all as far as rock music goes. It isn't, any more than various music rags "100 Best Bands" type lists are.

But those can be fun if you're in the right mood, and the R&RHOF can be also.

I have often wondered the same thing... Not even nominated, I just don't understand...
 
Glad the committee finally woke up and elected Sabbath...they have a huge anti-hard rock bias, which is sad since its the "rock and roll" hall of fame, and some of the past inductees barely, if at all, qualify as rock and roll.

However, once again, where the :censored: is Van Halen?

Yeah, I agree... except I like Blondie. :| Never really got into the Pistols.

Hopefully Husker Du will get into the hall within the next few years, that's all I can ask for.

Are The Sex Pistols just on there because they were just out there and weird

the only song I know they've done is Anarchy in the U.K.

Maybe there are bands more deserving than them that should go first

i dunno. i know they're considered one of the pioneers of punk rock (or maybe *the* pioneers? i dunno) but they only released one bloody album for crying out loud. i think there are more deserving bands who should be inducted before them.
