No. Honestly no it wasn't.

My problem with the whole lead up to this is that everyone wrote off this program before it even aired. The consensus seems to be, which you concour with, is that there is no problem finding a new lead singer, but how this is done that is the problem. It was possible that it could have been done totally above board & ethically whilst still being televised - it's just a very, very difficult balancing act. But people should be at least willing to give it a chance, especially if the band means that much to them, don't they deserve at least that?

That was my thoughts before it, if you want my thoughts after it however - I gave those earlier in the thread...

no! When it comes to the music I love I won't settle. Turning INXS into American Idol is just something I don't care to see. If INXS came out right now and said here's our new singer and our new song I'd be all for it but I just can't stomach the idea of watching them look for a singer on TV this way.

While this search has been turned into something resembeling American Idol (or Australian Idol in my case) - I only know that now after watching it. There is a way a televised search for a new lead signer could have been done in a tasteful & appropriate way that would satisfy most reasonable people. But as I said, I can only say that this is a brutal attempt after watching it.
