Don't want to post in the Mad Men thread in case of spoilers for the next few episodes but...

Don pulling the needle off "Tomorrow Never Knows"

Holy shit, that's a moment.

It's such a defining character moment that perfectly abuses what should have been a big series moment, what with buying the rights to a Beatles song and all.

I have been given new hope for my page, and i have put my favorite episode on my page for direct download. It's in Realplayer format, and the quality isn't that good, but it's still hilarious! and by the way . . . FILL OUT THE POLLS!
At some point in the early 2000s, with the advent of Geocities and Angelfire, young anime fans all decided that what the global internet needed, the system containing the sum of all human knowledge, was their own individual DBZ fan pages with photo galleries and "polls". And webrings.

Luckily, mine has been lost in time.

some have not been so lucky

Final Update
You will never see another update. I no longer care about DBZ. I suppose i was merely mesmorized by the notion of the super saiyan; that one could rise above the rest and gain incrediable power. Then, out of the corner of my eye i saw a glaring light, and i realized i had been staring into the darkness. And then turned around. I found Trigun. I found Akira. I found FLCL. I found Visions of Escaflowne. I found Street Fighter. I have not looked back.

the first 3 are all very satisfying

The first episode of Parade's End was not holding my interest at all, I stopped watching

I want to check out Spies of Warsaw, also Mr. Selfridge on PBS is pretty good.

I think Banshee is something you would like, you should investigate it a bit.

If Jeremy Piven is in it, it's got a strike against it already. If he's the lead, that's two. If it's a period piece and he's wearing a douchebag mustache underlaid by a neatly-trimmed Backstreet Boys beard...that's at least three. Other than that, yeah...maybe it's pretty good. But I will never know.

Vikings is pretty good.

I was a little surprised Gabriel Byrne was killed off so soon. I thought he'd last longer.

yes, it is pretty good,
It's a bit of a Spartacus light, many find Spartacus on Stars too extreme.

As for Priven on Mr. Selfridge, he plays the part of an arrogant American in London, type-casting. The supporting cast is really good, and this has a bit of the class struggle that is so popular on Downton Abbey and those other BBC productions.

I'm not sure how I feel about the ending of Top of the Lake.

That seemed to come out of nowhere, didn't it? We knew Al was into something shady, but that?? Then I made the assumption that based on that, Al lied when he said Matt was the father, that he knew it was one of the porny rape gang, or whatever that was. Which makes sense, seeing as how Tui claimed the father was "no one" and had no idea how she'd gotten pregnant. It wasn't ignorance about baby-making, it was ignorance that she'd been raped, I guess.

The shot of the body falling from the cliff was heart-stopping.

Not sure what to think about the reveal about Robin's father. It would make sense that was the reason for her mom being so adamant that she not see Johnno. Which makes me think that Al's report that they weren't siblings was a fucked-up lie. Weird.

The stuff with the baby was just heartbreaking. Babies having babies indeed. Ugh. I love that she shot Matt, though.

i liked the ending ok
I always knew that cop was dirty, this was better than him being involved with the drugs, explains his alliance with Matt, I don't think Matt was her father, her mom just knew Matt was scum and wanted her to stay away from them. I like the first two episodes the best then the last two. I guess i liked the ones with Tooey in them. It was a quick wrap up, but that explains why Tooey said no one did it. She was passed out.

I've added Orphan Black to my list of shows to watch.

Too bad this means I'm watching more TV than I had since I was in grade school. I'm starting to feel like a couch potato. Ugh!

I know the feeling, there's a silly amount of good TV on these days. Add to that catching up on a whole heap that came out before 2010 and my hard drive is bursting at the seams. Ah well #1stworldproblems

This ended up being one of the strongest works of cinema in general in the last couple years, let alone strictly defined to TV work. There really is a lot to digest after that last episode though that throws almost everything before it into a shockingly obscured perspective.

Al's involvement in the underground porn thing calls almost every big bit of information before into question like you said, so we're really left with zero concrete answers - we can't trust who Tui's baby's father is, whatever it was just one man or she'd been raped multiple times either by family or in the porn ring, we can't trust whether Matt is actually Robin's father, and we can't really know the extent of any individual's involvement in all the depravity or corruption. Which is great, since what we're left with is the questions, and the characters, and this stunning portrait of community, family, love, parentage, generational discord, morality and every other theme this touched on, of which there are so many more.

The Americans is winding down. Next week is it's season finale.

It's still entertaining and keeps my attention. This past episode really showed how sociopathic Philip can be, in regards to Martha.

But its the wigs and the children that make me give this show 4 out of 5 stars. Do those wigs have some special glue to keep them on when necessary? And I think the kids are just there, with little to the plot. It's like they're a distraction for Philip and Elizabeth, in terms of their partnership and their dedication to the motherland. I mean, is Paige's crush on the kid next door supposed to be a subplot or just to remind Elizabeth what love is? I hope the next episode has the kids finally start asking questions because that is long overdue.

I can give the kids part a pass.

But the wigs, and I have mentioned them before are a leap too far. It was kind of funny when her parents said, I can see a family resemblance, I yelled yes, they all have the same bad wig-maker.

We are supposed to believe he spends the night but does not take a shower?

Yes, exactly!

And also, wouldn't their accents slip in time to time? They may have lived in America for about 15 years, but English is something they learned in their late teens. I doubt they would have no trace of an accent.
