Maybe, but it still wasn't as bad as the Great Melbourne Crash of '06 in which so much video footage of dirty trains was downloaded in such a short amount of time from a single location that the whole circuit imploded on itself.

By the way, I think the absolute best/west threads on EYKIW are the ones about drugs. God, the naivety of some people! But it's still funny, and sometimes you get a semi-interesting but dubious anecdote or two. Still quality scene for some posters to shine, nonetheless.

Heh, as soon as I saw that thread, I thought about you and how you might react. Some of the posts are laughable. Though it seems even the most ardently anti-drugs people have at least reconciled themselves to the fact that at least two members of U2 have indeed done drugs in the past.

Actually, I must admit I've never seen anything stating one way or another whether Larry has. Obviously Bono, Edge, and Adam have, and those who want to deny it seem to be selectively reading and being completely dishonest with themselves.

But it cracks me up how it's such a big deal to some folk on EYKIW, as if they have some major investment in U2's personal lives and their morality and life decisions.

I think Bonnie mentioned it came from a somewhat dubious source, so to take it for what it's worth.

Anybody who thinks that U2 were not at least dabbling in drugs from 1989 to 1998 clearly has an inadequate grasp of the band's lifestyle and behaviour in that period. I can somewhat understand people trying to argue the band's been clean before and since (though I'd disagree), since they've had a more clean image in those periods and it's easier for a fervently anti-drugs kind of person to rationalise it.

But like I say, I've never heard anything definitive either way about Larry, and I sincerely have a hard time imagining him high because he's such a twat. Don't you? It would surely be quite the sight ...

Yeah, I can't say I give a shit either way if the band's done drugs or not. The whole moralising over it in that thread is ... amazing. I loved when somebody named legendary musicians who it's well-known used drugs, and someone else just retorted by pointing out that they're all dead. Wow, what a comeback. Because every pot-smoking musician dies young.

Last night, my brother and I got some and started drinking. By the end of the night, I'd had something close to 10 shots (once you count the mixed drinks and whatnot and there was a point I was chasing the shots with the mixed drink. ) and I was barely even tipsy.
