Soul Asylum bassist Karl Mueller passed away this morning after a long battle with throat cancer...he was 41. A benefit was held for him last October which featured the reunion of Bob Mould and Grant Hart from Husker Du. Soul Asylum is expected to release a statement sometime tomorrow.

I heard this when I was up in MPLS this weekend. Sad.
Kinda weird to see the "purchased" (the ones families do in the daily papers) obit in the paper of a rock star.
