Round three now, polls open for a day.

Going to have to give the title song the boot now. Celestial Voices is stunning, but that's only one part of the song. The rest of it doesn't quite hold up to everything else on the album.

By the way, COBL_04, I don't know if this question was answered for you or not in the other thread, but A Saucerful Of Secrets was the last Pink Floyd album that Syd Barrett appeared on.

It's awfully considerate of you to think of me here
And I'm most obliged to you for making it clear that I'm not here
And I never knew the moon could be so big
And I never knew the moon could be so blue
And I'm grateful that you threw away my old shoes
And brought me here instead dressed in red

And I'm wondering who could be writing this song...
I don't care if the sun don't shine
And I don't care if nothing is mine
And I don't care if I'm nervous with you
I'll do my loving in the winter

And the sea isn't green
And I love the queen
And what exactly is a dream?
And what exactly is a joke?

:sigh:

I have always felt Jugband Blues to be overrated on account of it being Syd's swansong with Floyd. It gets my vote for this round.

Remember A Day is an absolutely surreal, wonderful pop song...the kind of thing that Barrett-era Floyd excelled at.

Saucerful is just a waste of your time and mine.

wow thanks GG. That is pretty despondent. He must have made a massive impact if he was only there for two albums... and am I right in saying there was no Gilmour for Piper?

Well just to up discussion, I just bought Animals, and am two and half minutes into Dogs. I like it. Good guitar.

Yep, no Gilmour for Piper. Although he did "sub in" for live Piper songs in '68 once Syd was too far gone. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdE8KMBtHqM

Animals.   Big man, pig man! Haha charade you are!
