but even rock stations play way better music than nickelback, and ive heard A LOT of country on radio

You have a right to like whatever you want, it's silly to get that bothered by someone else's taste in music. There are far more important things in the world. There is music I think is total crap, but if someone else likes it that's their thing..

Some people do that in this forum, that's the main reason I don't post here all that much.

I actually think that Ryan Adams is NOT country. I dislike most country music. Adams just uses harmonica's, steel guitars, and other instruments commonly used in country songs. But the style of music doesn't seem like country to me.

Well, I definitely consider some of his work to be country (as much as I hate categorizing music into genres)...especially if you're gonna include some of his work with Whiskeytown.

Same here. But most of my friends and colleagues actually respect my music taste and if they discover someone new they always ask me if I know them and I can tell they hope that I approve, lol.

People who don't know what else to say to me (men, mostly) might tease me about U2 ("So, what are you doing this weekend, going to a U2 show in Finland?" ) but it's not mean-spirited.
