I always feel like I'm being strangled when I wear a scarf.

They're a necessity in the winter here, but then it's 'wrap the scarf around your face so your nose doesn't fall off', and not really a fashion thing.

To me, scarves are something you wear to sporting events when you're really getting decked out and wearing every possible item of clothing related to your team.

Besides that, I have never worn a scarf in my life. The only one I own is my All Blacks scarf. It just doesn't get that cold here. I sometimes see a few people wearing scarves in winter, but they probably think living in Queensland is a good idea.

Can't really knit words. That one doesn't look knit anyway. Looks like some fabric (fleece?) with the words printed on. It would be easier to cut a scarf from black fleece and just write the words on with a fabric paint pen.

you wouldn't be able to get clarity in the words. You could use a stretchy fabric and some fabric paint. 20cm of assorted knits @ $3.99 per metre and paint for $4.99 per tube
