That's because this album is much better than Coldplays album - and I don't think this is a very good album.

Okay. I listened to the album for the first time this morning with several people I work with.

Everyone LOVED it!!!! And I wanted to weep with joy at the realization that Oasis is BACK in a big, BIG way!!!!!!!

THIS is the band I loved more than any other--yes, even U2--in the mid-90s. THIS is the band I listened to more than any other--yes, even more than BonoEdgeAdam&Larry--in the mid-90s.

Will this translate to U.S. chart success? Who knows, and even more importantly, who cares? What IS important is that OASIS IS BACK!!!!! YAAAYY!!!!

I've always wondered given the the type of bands getting some play/ making waves such as Coldplay, Keane, The White Stripes, the Killers, Franz Ferdinand, etc... will the public be much more accepting of an Oasis album/ band?

Its great...every member stepped up their songwriting, Andy Bell's "Turn Up The Sun" and "Keep the Dream Alive" are brilliant, Gem's " Bell Will Ring" is an excellent, crisp guitar track, Liam and Noel both improved a hell of a lot from the last album as well..this is easily their third best album.

Count me as someone who has been sick of seeing all these Oasis threads,

and as someone who kind of steered away from them their last two albums,

BUT,

I have to say that this new album is fantastic. They stripped away most of their experiments, and have come up with a classic rock and roll record.

"Keep the Dream Alive" is the best track. Written by Andy Bell. Of Ride fame. Go buy Ride records!

Everytime I hear "Let There Be Love" I think of John Lennon...

Part of the Queue and The Importance of Being Idle are, as of now, the two standout tracks for me

It's a great album. The first four songs are aweosme. I'm very much into The Importance of Being Idle right now, it's one of Noel's best songs. I love the whole feel of the song. Mucky Fingers is my second favorite after Layla!!! Great track! Turn Up The Sun is an awesome opening song but it's missing a solo before going slow again at the end. Keep The Dream Alive is defenitly a classic Oasis song already. It's going t sound gret live. I very much like the changing of vocals on Let There Be Love. Noel is great on this album as a singer. The acoustic punk rocker of The Meaning Of Soul is pretty cool. Too Bad Eyeball Tickler is not on the album, great riff.

Also I really, really like Guess God Thinks I'm Abel (however I wish the outro part where it kicked up a notch would have lasted a little longer).

Pass Me Down The Wine should have been added to the album, its a nice propulsive acoustic rock tune...Love Like A Bomb is a great pop song as well, a nice progression for Liam's writing.

I haven't heard the five additional songs mentioned in this thread. I must find them. Wow, I'm behind.

How good are the opening lines to that song? perfect for Liam's giant ego and heroically snarling vocals
