I tried to watch it once, and it was like there were 4-5 different affairs/love triangles/orgies/one night stands going on and I was like..."is there a plot? b/c you can watch softcore porn on the Oxygen network these days...."

I've heard this show described as the closest thing to soft core porn on cable today. I guess nudity can take the place of engaging plots.

I guess so. I honestly gave it a shot, but Dr 90210 (another plastic surgery show) has more of a plot, IMO.

that's EXACTLY what I tell people when they ask me why I like this show so much.

:hyper: I'm excited for the next season to start.
Julian McMahon...

Is he going to die in the next episode? I think someone will either save him or he gets a little injured.

Does anyone have any ideas on who the Carver is?

I've heard people claim that it's the lesbian woman who works with the dr's.

There was an article in NY Daily News that reveals a few answers.

On shock TV's cutting edge
'Nip/Tuck' eyes new season

'Nip/Tuck" creator Ryan Murphy promised another season of shock and awe in the morally ambiguous world of Miami plastic surgeons Christian Troy (Julian McMahon) and Sean McNamara (Dylan Walsh).

Highlight for spoilers

[spoilers]Last season's finale had Christian getting attacked by the Carver, a serial attacker who cuts up his victims' faces.

"It was a brutal scene," said Murphy, "so the repercussions are equally as brutal. The repercussions are quite huge."

The series, which returns Sept. 20, went into production earlier this summer. It will open about a month after Christian's attack. But the identity of the Carver will remain a secret.

"It could be anybody," said Murphy. "But you won't find out quickly."

This year, "Boston Legal" alum Rhona Mittra has a guest-starring role as a detective stalking the Carver. Previous guest stars Joan Rivers, Alec Baldwin, Jill Clayburgh and Vanessa Redgrave (star Joely Richardson's mother) will return.

Baldwin, said Murphy, will return in a prominent story arc, as will Redgrave. She-man Famke Janssen, who ended her affair with Christian's son and fled Miami, also will return. And guest stars Jessalyn Gilsig, Kelly Carlson and Bruno Campos join the cast as regulars this season.

Gelsig and Richardson, said Murphy, will form an "interesting alliance." Rivers will return seeking another procedure.

"Last year, I had no idea that Famke would become a man," joked Murphy, "but I think you find those things out.

"The true gift for me," he continued, "was Joan Rivers. I really wanted her. I thought, if you're doing a show about plastic surgery, Joan Rivers has got to be on the show."

The actors are currently filming the fourth episode, and things are every bit as volatile as before.

"Every character seems to be on the precipice of an explosion and about to go over the edge," said McMahon.

There have already been plenty of surprises.

"We get a little bit jaded, even on this show," said Richardson. "You think, 'Oh, I don't know if I can be surprised anymore,' and then you get Famke being a man. I just remember I read that episode and my jaw dropped.

"Already this season I'm like, 'Oh my god, that's not possible!'"

I love this show, I got Season 1 and 2 on DVD. It's the best damn thing on TV right now.

A wonderfully dark attack on superficiality in today's modern society. I can't wait for season 3, I wanna see who The Carver is.

Word from Watch with Kristin at E! Online (keep in mind she's rarely reliable) is that we won't find out before episode 15. :|

That's good to know, I like the idea of just dragging this thing right out. Bring it on!
