I wanted to tell deathbear something and posting here will save digging up an old and somewhat sad thread.
bear asked if Johnny Cash and June Carter had recorded"if i was a carpenter". I don't recall it being "their" song. I saw a brilliant documantary about JC a couple of nights ago and there they were, singing the aforementioned song. I am going to go bats trying to recall who sang the version that i heard when i was younger. I'm sure it wasn't June and Johnny.

Pedro the Lion are from Seattle. I believe they are sort of a Christian band but not in a lame way.

Pedro rarely sings about his religious views and if he does it is very tasteful. And I don't think there is anything wrong with anyone singing about their beliefs anyway!
