Any suggestions for a Mix CD about long distance love?

The two off the top of my head so far have been

Far Away - Nickelback
and
Landing in London - 3 doors down

I know there are a ton out there, but I figured I'd ask for help early on, because I usually get such great suggestions here :)

Please, please, if you love your man, do not put Nickelback on there. I cannot stress that enough.

The Arcade Fire - No Cars Go (Neon Bible Version)
Bright Eyes - Landlocked Blues
Death Cab for Cutie - I Will Follow You Into the Dark
The Flaming Lips - It Overtakes Me / The Stars Are So Big, I Am So Small... Do I Stand a Chance?
Yo La Tengo - I Feel Like Going Home

are a few I think would fit, but it all depends on his tastes.

Snow Patrol - Set Fire to the Third Bar
Death Cab For Cutie - Transatlanticism
Amy Millan - Come Home Loaded Roadie
Norah Jones - Turn Me On
Coldplay - Til Kingdom Come
Damien Rice - The Animals Were Gone
The Decemberists - Yankee Bayonet
KT Tunstall - Other Side of the World
Pete Yorn - Come Back Home
Ray LaMontagne - Be Here Now
Spoon - I Summon You

Some of those should suffice.

Awesomeness right there!

Miles from where you are
I lay down on the cold ground
I pray that something picks me up
And sets me down in your warm arms

 he likes Nickelback :grumpy:

:lmao:

Couldn't resist

He's fairly old school - U2, Morrissey, The Smiths, The Pogues - though he did mention something about Likin Park the other day :uhoh: I've tried to erase that moment from my memory

actually he's very versitile in his tastes and open minded - always listening to new stuff

that's cool, I'm just not too keen on Nickelback.

But any Keane song would be good there too.

Has he listened to any new Sonic Youth stuff?

:hmm: Yeah, I think so - though I don't remember for certain

and I'll be checking out Keane  and there are already several others which I think will be good as well

oh, and he's a Green Day nut, as well ( )

Well, I gave you Eddie From Ohio's Atlantic last night

Moxy Fruvous - If Only You Knew (Mike wrote it for his wife while Fruvous was touring back in 97 - I prefer the original acoustic version that was never recorded, but the album version's pretty good too  )

By a stream of running water I heard you laugh
I closed my eyes for an hour and a half
And tried to make you appear
I swear in the beauty of the setting sun
You were here...

Moxy Fruvous - Half As Much
The Waifs - London Still (this is more a general "missing people", but still damn good)
Danny Michel - Toledo

Not so much "long distance songs" but I'm trying to make my girlfriend a mix cd, some of the songs I have on there are...
Copeland-Sleep
New Order- Wating for the Sirens Call
Brand New- The No Seatbelt Song
The Fray- Look After You

check them out, hope you can use them!
