I just have to put in a plug for the Wallflowers... if 'One Headlight' is all you know, then you're seriously missing out. (although it's a good f*cking song too)

They have put out four really strong records, especially Breach and Bringing Down the Horse. The songs are filled with fantastic melodies and some truly extraordinary lyrics, not too dissimilar to Springsteen in some respects.

It would be unfair to dismiss these guys as pop rock, there is really something special about their songs.

i totally agree. i listened to bringing down the horse every day for an entire summer some years back. and jakob dylan is really quite a writer.

easy on the eyes, too :sexywink:

well hes bob's son, obviously his lyrics CANT suck that bad. i mean, it would be impossible really.

Yay Wallflowers!

Bringing Down the Horse was amazing. I never got around to picking up Breach, although I think ended up downloading a large part of the songs. "I've Been Delivered"

Does anyone have the latest: Red Letter Days?

And, for the record: Jakob Dylan

I picked up Red Letter Days when it came out, and was not dissapointed. Their sound has evolved and Jakob continues to astound. There's a couple real hard-rockers on there too... ("Everybody out of the Water" was a big surprise.)

I really like the wallflowers, and i'm looking to get an album after just having some various songs that i've liked on cd, like difference and when you're on top...i don't know which cd to get though. i'm thinking of getting red letter days because i tend to work backwards with all the bands i get into, from u2 to sister hazel...you know, get the newest album and then get all the other ones. I'm not sure though....

But  jakob dylan certainly is easy on the eyes.... :faint: :)

I traded in Bringing Down the Horse a few months ago just becauase I never listened to it anymore. :uhoh:

But I really liked "6th Avenue Heartache."

Do you like THE WALLFLOWERS?

The Wallflowers and U2 are my two fav bands (in no special order, I love both). That's the reason why they always "appear" at the end of my posts. There are 4 records:

~ The Wallflowers (1992)

~ Bringing Down The Horse (1996)

yeah, I 'borrowed' the cover pics from their site...hmm...I've seen the last pic somewhere... :sexywink: hehe

They are very talented and so awesome! I've been to a show and it was great, no words can describe how amazing their shows are.

btw, they are gonna be special guests of the Counting Crows during the next month in San Francisco and Los Angeles. More info in their official site:

I wish I could go...

You can also read the lyrics and articles, watch the videos, send a question to Jakob Dylan (the singer), and if you go to their message board, you'll be welcome  , I live there too, hehe  but I use another sn...

If you are interested in them, just tell me and I'll give you some interesting links.

I  The Wallflowers!

I think they're pretty good :) Jakob's not bad to look at either :D

I heard their cover of Into The Mystic this weekend on the radio, and thought it was beautiful

I totally agree, The Wallflowers rock! and their shows are amazing, they and U2 are my 2 fav bands. RLD is such a cool record! I think it's one of those cds everyone should have...

I love the Wallflowers for sharing their amazing talent with us, being awesome guys, posting in their board (I was really surprised the first time I saw their posts, they made me register :D ), the q&a with Jakob (you can send questions to him), Greg's picks (he has a great taste in music), the shows (awww, so many good memories...). I have friends who have met them and they all say the WF are very nice guys. I would like to go to another show...why I'm not living in LA? *sigh*

btw, have you seen their new guitar player? he is great! Much love to Yogi!!

I've always liked their music, but I'm addicted to them since I went to a show in February, aawww, I was in front row, just in front of Jakob, and I have one of Yogi's guitar picks! yeah! That was so awesome...

yeah, I know the WF are cute, but the most important thing is their amazing talent. And I live in the Invisible City...:sexywink:

Bringing Down The Horse is my favourite :D Great album! :D

Yeah! I'm a fan since I listened to BDTH for the first time! :) If you have RLD too, I'm sure you'll love "(Breach)". :D "Sleepwalker" is such a great song...

The first album has a different sound, they had a different 'style', but it's cool too.
