Sufjan Stevens

I thought I saw a thread about him....can't find it.

Anyone have the "leaked" version of Illinois (MP3)?

I have heard "Come on feel the Illinoise" but want to hear more.

i read that there was a bad torrent out there.

so we might have to wait a bit.

it's gonna take him a long time to complete the 50 states project

and I love your avatar, elevatedmole

I've just got my hands on Illinois and I like it alot. I love the fact that theres a song about Peoria (place where I live)

How did you get your hands on it?

Peoria

I read a post on a Champaign music board that listed the titles of the tracks...even for those of us who only spent a short time in the state, it cracked me up (and also got me even more excited to hear the album). Something about "your mother from Decatur" or something...... :D

Come on...you live in Chicago...and this doesn't crack you up?

Have you ever been to Jacksonville?

I can't wait to hear this albom...even if the songs aren't related to the titles.

Never been to Jacksonville. I haven't been many places in Illinois south of the south side or north of north shore, except for Champaign-Urbana where I went to college.

I still love this album, by the way. Pitchfork (which I read, but don't always agree with), rates it very highly, so far their album of the year.

$uperman

apparently his label got a cease-and-desist order from DC comics because the cover art had superman flying over the chicago skyline. but according to pitchfork, the initial pressings will be sold as planned, and if the issue with DC comics remains unresolved, a repressing with new artwork may be available in august.

Hmm, all my CD stores must suck then.

Actually, I know they do. I couldnt see this or the Wilderness album anywhere this week.

I had a copy in my hand (a promo) this weekend. It sounded as if the store I went to had to return all of the CDs they had received (minus the promo copy they JUST happened to be playing when I walked in).

I can't wait.

Just spent the weekend there (C-U). The town is growing/changing so fast.

taken from the Interpol forum

I read an interview online saying he's currently working on Oregon, New Jersey, Vermont, and Rhode Island. He said Vermont might be a Christmas album, and a few states will be short EP's.

that makes sense

Concerning the UFO Sightings...is a beautiful piece

I'm starting to really look forward to hearing this whole thing
