I read a post on a Champaign music board that listed the titles of the tracks...even for those of us who only spent a short time in the state, it cracked me up (and also got me even more excited to hear the album). Something about "your mother from Decatur" or something......

Never been to Jacksonville. I haven't been many places in Illinois south of the south side or north of north shore, except for Champaign-Urbana where I went to college.

I still love this album, by the way. Pitchfork (which I read, but don't always agree with), rates it very highly, so far their album of the year.

apparently his label got a cease-and-desist order from DC comics because the cover art had superman flying over the chicago skyline. but according to pitchfork, the initial pressings will be sold as planned, and if the issue with DC comics remains unresolved, a repressing with new artwork may be available in august.

I had a copy in my hand (a promo) this weekend. It sounded as if the store I went to had to return all of the CDs they had received (minus the promo copy they JUST happened to be playing when I walked in).
