It was my #1 this year....even with the huge hype, I think it lives up to it...

I've been pronouncing the 'j' all this while.

Oh well.

I was waiting for another album to knock it down since it came out in July, but none came close, IMO. I loved Wolf Parade's debut LP, but Illinois is easily the best album of the year. So beautiful of a choice

Much agreed.

Best album of the year for me.

BSS is a close third, if Picaresque came out in 2005.

I've decided the Sufmeister looks quite a bit like Clive Owen.

^ It's hard to tell sometimes though because albums leak and all............I heard the Iron and Wine and Bright Eyes releases like way back in October of '04, so I kind of have a hard time relating to them as 2005 projects...

Oh yeah, and this is easily the best album of the year. Lots of great stuff has come out since it, but my prediction of it not being topped came true.

Sufjan Stevens.

IMO probably the best artist in the past 5 years. Listen to Illinoise and you'll know what I mean. He's completely amazing. Can play around 15 instruments and make some of the most beautiful melodies I've ever heard.

Buy his newest album, then some of his other stuff!

Yes, Sufjan is amazing. I'm expecting legendary things from this guy. You should check out Seven Swans.

I haven't heard him yet, but I have heard that he is taking a long hiatus very soon.

No surprise there - he's gotta take some time off to travel to some other states!
