e mothers day

i have failed to purchase my mom anything this mothers day. i suck.
is it socially acceptable yet to send an e card for such an occassion?
maybe it depends on the mother. my mother has an ibook, does that change anything?

an e-card would be better than nothing.
I'd wager she would prefer if you wrote an e-letter and attached a recent pic of your gorgeous self .
It's not until Sunday...you still have time to redeem yourself.
Actually we don't do the Mother's Day thing...more out of control commercialism imho. My sons show they care any old time, in many ways.
My mother on the other hand enjoys it. We always had a mother's day concert at Sunday School and made them corsages of chrysanthemum's and maiden hair. This year will be very special. My mother, her daughters, their daughters and their daughters, 4 generations ...of assembled beauty. I can't wait:hyper:
in fact I can't.... I'm leaving today:)

I have had one nagging doubt. One of my sisters is a Jehovah Witness. They don't attend Christmas and birthday celebrations, we've never had a gathering before especially for Mother's Day. I wonder if she will be there?

despite her ibook, an ecard will just not cut it kobesan. at least send flowers or something.

:slant:

Depends on the mom. Handwritten letters mean more to my mom than anything in the world. She can really pour on the guilt with things like, "So, I haven't heard from you in a while so I went back and re-read some of your old letters." :|

So I sent her a long letter and some pictures. It's better than any gift I could buy her.

Can you get flowers or chocolates or something delivered to her home on mother's day?

But I definitely think sending an e-card is a nice idea too. :)

I agree. Maybe you could get some little thing just to shoe how much you appreciate her. I taking my mom out to dinner, and I know that she will be happy with that.

I'll probly send my mom an e card and also bring flowers when I go over for dinner.

 moms.

i can do all that, but it will arrive late.
i am sending an e card, and sometime next week a flower that is meant to attract butterfly's will also arrive.

My mom is going to stay with me for a whole week at the end of this month. I am so excited.

not sure yet... i'm supposed to go get something today or tomorrow... i should get her a coldplay album...

I'm getting my mom a gift card to Target because that's all she said she wanted.

My entire family inlcuding grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins, whoever else, gets together for brunch every year at the same wonderful restaurant for Mother's Day. It's the best meal I have all year. I can't wait :D

my older sister works and always she gives good gifts to my mom, I'm poor :(
I will give a hug with love, better gift does not have (that is my pretext by the lack of economic resources)

that is the point... :) someday I will work, make money and I will give good gifts to my mom

I haven't gotten anything for my mom yet except for a card. I asked my dad for suggestions, but he's about as helpless as me!

Well, a few years back I made a photo collage for my Mom, in one of those frames w/ all the slots for different photos. I put in pics of her Mom, me w/ my Mom when I was a baby and more recent photos. I also had a pic of her at her First Communion, and me at mine.

She cried when she saw it..so that's one possibility that doesn't cost much :)

I got my mom:

--a "King's College Mom" T-shirt (she *wanted* one, God only knows why)
--My Big Fat Greek Wedding on DVD
--a cute mothers-and-daughters book I found at Borders

I got my stepmother:
--a big Yankee Lilac Blossoms candle (her favey)

I got my mom's mom:
--same thing as my stepmother (her favey too)

I got my dad's mom:
--a vase that matches her china pattern

:)
