I was listening to Frankee's **** You Right Back (good thing I don't have any credibility to lose, huh) and decided to make a cd for a friend of mine, who is divorcing, full of anti men songs. I actually want to make her laugh and of course I need some help.

Any ideas? You will be helping make a very sad lady very amused, if only briefly.

Well its not an anti men song as such but

"I Am Woman" by Helen Reddy
"The Winner Takes It All" by ABBA is a good defeatist depressing song about divorce

'Similar Features' by Melissa Etheridge

What about "Im a Creep" or "Im an Arsehole" ?

i promise i don't hate men

Janet Jackson seems to have one on each of her albums:

What Have You Done For Me Lately?
Black Cat
This Time
What About (my personal favorite)
Son of a Gun

Others that are not necessarily man-hating but might be appropriate:

Concrete Blonde - Jesus Please Forgive Me (For the Things I'm About to Say)
Paula Cole - Throwing Stones
Bjork - 5 Years
Bjork - Immature
Fiona Apple - Get Gone
Dido - Hunter
Dido - Don't Think of Me
Natalie Merchant - 7 Years
Kym Mazelle - Young Hearts Run Free

By the way, I don't know if any of my suggestions would make her laugh, but they might help her get some anger out, which is also a good thing. Please give your friend a hug for me, too.

divorce song--liz phair

and well someone had to say it...goodbye earl--the dixie chicks!

the best 'I hate men song' would have to be Ani DiFranco's 'Untouchable Face'

so f**k you
and your untouchable face
and f**k you
for existing in the first place
and who am i
that i should be vying for your touch
and who am i
i bet you can't even tell me that much

how can you go past lyrics like that?

Yeah, Alanis Morrisette's "You Oughta Know" is perhaps the best anti-man breakup song.

"Hit the Road Jack" is a timely choice.

What about these...
"Enough is Enough (No More Tears)" by Donna Summer and Barbara Streisand
"Go Your Own Way" by Fleetwood Mac
"Everything About You" by Ugly Kid Joe
"I Can't Make You Love Me" by Bonnie Raitt
"Why": Annie Lennox
"I've Tried Everything": The Eurythmics
"Gotta Serve Somebody": Bob Dylan
"You're No Good": Linda Ronstandt
"I Will Survive": Gloria Gaynor
"Goodbye Earl:: Dixie Chicks (I think that's already been mentioned)

'Wish Me Well (You Can Go To Hell)' by The Bouncing Souls

Definitely a funny song for that type of thing.
