WINE REVIEW

Devil's Corner 2008 Tasmania pinot noir

Now, you know how I said that Adelaide Hills pinot noir would keep a stoner merrily occupied for about 20 minutes? The colour of this wine in the glass will keep him amused for an hour, then it will morph into Satan and he'll have the worst trip ever. On voyage 34, the stoner will meet Satan coming down a up staircase and the encounter will be crushing.

Crushing like ... crushed grapes. Mmm, crushed grapes. Pinot noir is my favourite variety. New Zealand produces some of the finest pinot noir in the world, indeed the finest (fuck you, France!), and Tasmania is on a similar latitude and enjoys a similar climate. I had never had a Taswegian pinot noir before, so at Bonnie's urging - and again she's not bloody around - I bought this one. Come on, the name? Hail to the NecroWinezard!

Now, I could tell you a lot about this wine. But instead, I love this guy:

I'll be back for more Tassie pinot noir for sure. In summary,

why would I want a model when I have perfection sitting on the couch right behind me?

$10 says you wouldn't say this if he weren't sitting on the couch right behind you.

I'm so going to buy wines that guy recommends in future. He's awesome.

And Cin, that picture is of me on a Wellington train in 2008.

I'm having another glass, just because that guy calls it "Divil's Cournuh".
