Give it time. He's pretty irresistible

I did rather enjoy the '68 come-back special.

There's an Elvis impersonator who's doing a re-enactment of that show in the local casino complex at some point soon. They seem to have a never-ending parade of various Elvis impersonators, as well as impersonators of the Bee Gees and ABBA and Roy Orbison and various other classic acts... the Aust. U2 Show even did a gig in one of the venues there, which was a fairly spectacular flop.

Aww at Aust. U2, but YAY FOR ELVIS!

SuperWin.

With that declaration of my relative greatness, I'm off to get some sleep before hopefully watching TCU kick the shit out of UNLV (please please please Jinx lords, I don't mean you any disrespect)

I was wondering if they'd come up then... but would I really remember it from one listen, live, a year ago?

The only other thing I can think of is that I heard them a few times when Pennie was going through her Crowded House phase.

I seem to catch Pennie's phases in music several years after she gets them... although I haven't hit an Elvis phase yet.

And thank god you haven't hit an Elvis phase yet. Maybe I should post my thoughts on that useless, boring, untalented hack in the Unpopular Musical Opinions thread.

Well, Fingers Of Love was one of the highlights of the Crowdies gig, from my perspective - and I'd say it generally is a highlight when they play it, since they rock it so much. The full set:

1. Private Universe
2. Mean To Me
3. Don't Stop Now
4. Fall At Your Feet
5. Whispers And Moans
6. Heaven That I'm Making
7. She Called Up
8. Hole In The River
9. When You Come
10. A Sigh
11. Silent House
12. Don't Dream It's Over
13. Pour Le Monde
14. Distant Sun
15. Weather With You

16. Locked Out
17. Something So Strong
18. World Where You Live

19. Fingers Of Love
20. Four Seasons In One Day
21. Better Be Home Soon

Hole In The River --> When You Come fucking SLAYED.

It was hard not to tell you that result. France are goneburgers.

Yeah. They're very much fucked unless jesus descends from the clouds to play for Scotland next week. I didn't realise some of the names Fiji had recruited.

Ironically, btw, Georgia have been thrown out of international league because it's players were moonlighting for international union

You may not like his music, as much as I may not like the Beatles, but both acts were responsible for the continuation of Rock and Roll at times when it easily could have been wiped out :p

See you Ashley and hi Liam.

Indeed I was. I was listening to WDADU earlier and going nuts trying to remember a live performance of The Killing Hand where LaBrie abso-fucking-lutely NAILS "walking amidst a FRIGHTENING STILL". Do you know the one I'm thinking of, and more importantly, where I might find it? I'd swear I saw it on YouTube once but I don't feel like sifting through every Killing Hand on there to find it ...

At a guess, WDADRU. Although it could be that Bucharest broadcast.

I looked it up, and it's literally impossible for France to proceed no matter what outcome happens. Fiji winning or drawing obviously knocks them out, while if Scotland win by even a point, the Scots end up with a better points differential than France (as do Fiji).

 That's great. In multiple ways.

Oh Shit! I just remembered I have to call dad at 10 tomorrow and remind him to go to the bank

Agreed. That was a highlight for me too, and I'd never heard Hole in the River before!

And hello funky tribal drumming!

Which says less about him and more about the great unwashed.

Not WDADRU. I have the audio of that and "frightening still" doesn't really go anywhere beyond the first syllable.

Will check out Bucharest.

Excuse me if I don't care. League will continue to do fine in France.

Fiji look alright too - they've decent sponsors in Vodafone and Air Pacific and they have plenty of first grade talent, and seeing them progress to play Samoa or Tonga would be epic. Obviously I'd prefer to see Scotland progress, but...ha.

Stanley Gene from PNG is awesome. Officially he's 34, but he could be as old as 55, which is probably more accurate but he's still a great player. Although seeing it only 8-0, with a kick to come, NZ are going to piss this home.

I don't know why harder spirits don't give me a hangover, yet red wine seems to slay me.

No complaints, of course.

I had wine. An entire bottle.
No fucking wonder. I get hungover easier on it, too. But it takes a hell of a lot more of something with higher alcohol content to give me a hangover.
