Joshua Tree Wild Fire

I'm on the east coast & just picking up pieces of this news. Anyone closer have more info?

Wow this is the first I have heard of this. I am in San Diego, south county. It would be sad if "the Joshua Tree" which is now only a memorial burned......but there are TONS of Joshua trees in the park and region. They are gorgeous. Sad if too many of them burned. I don't like fires.

I will try to find out from some other friends if they have any more info on this. Thanks for posting!

On the news tonight they talked about the wildfires and showed a brief clip of some Joshua trees with the sky around them all orange from the fire. I have no idea exactly where these trees were or if they were anywhere near where THE tree was, though.

As for the famous U2 Joshua tree, didn't it fall down a long time ago anyway?

I have a friend who lives in Joshua Tree. I was just there visting her in last November. I hope she's alright.

I thought about you, Tiny. I hope your friend is alright. This is really sad news because the Joshua Trees are really SOOOO beautiful.
