It's funny because it's true.

I like the album a lot, but I love their first one, Turn on the Bright Lights, even more. I would love to see them live.

I bought Antics after all the rave reviews in here but it just kind of leaves me cold. Maybe it'll grow on me.

I definitely think Interpol are growers. I liked them when I first heard them, but the more I kept listening to their albums, the more brilliant I thought they were. Something about the juxtaposition of the lyrics with the style of music they play... Then seeing them live... :combust: They may have already passed out of our neck of the woods for this recent tour, but if you can ever catch one of their shows, I'd recommend it.

I had to give Antics a bit more time than Turn on the Bright Lights, but now I just adore it!

Resurrecting a dead thread instead of make a new one! I'm Mr. By The Book!!

Anyway, last months edition of Q Magazine (UK thingy) has a link to a live show by Interpol at Washington D.C.'s 9:30 Club. It can be heard in streaming audio at the NPR website:

The quality is decent but could have been better. Still, I can't really complain about freebies! Here's the set list:

Next Exit
Slow Hands
Length of Love
Say Hello to the Angels
Narc
Public Pervert
Not Even Jail
Leif Erikson
Evil
Take You On A Cruise
PDA

Encore

Specialist
Obstacle 1
Roland

ENJOY!

resurrected

another thread comes back to life...how unexpected...

no, I LOVE their music. Lief Eriksson, Untitled, A Time to Be So Small, Not Even Jail, the list goes on. Their concert here in Detriot at the State was something to behold.

Hmmmmm....

This thread makes me want to listen to them. It's been quite the while, almost too long. Should I listen? Will I listen? I think I may, I think I might.

No it wasnt. They're better than they're made out to be.

Maybe I took this post a little too personal......

out of my top 10 most played on my itunes, 6 are from antics (the other 4 are either stars or bss).

mikal, seriously, listen to antics again. 'evil' and everything from track 4 to the end is like, heaven.

and well, if you still don't like it, i don't know what to say... the baby jesus cries.

Saw them the other night. The club was totally packed out and everyone was totally absorbed. Loud, pounding, driving rhythms with that great voice. And can I say I am now in love with Carlos. I thought he was gonna deck someone in the front with his bass, he was chucking it around.

Good stuff!
