If the Fifa's intention was to fuck up some games , exactly the eliminated teams games It succed . Tomorrow we got 4 games , but 2 in the same hour . So like while everybody be watchin Ecuador X Ger , who besides ME with another tv , really dont know why though , Costa Rica and Pol. ?

Yeah, but if they didn't do it this way, you could have a situation where it is in the best interest of the two teams in the later game to tie or even for one team to throw the game.

The best solution is just to go to a good sports bar and watch both games at the same time, I think.

The rapidity of today's communication sometimes nullifies this though; I recall a terrible finish to a match in the last Cup (Mexico and Italy I think) where news came through both would be progressing regardless of the result in the other match and so they were keen to pass the ball around for about five minutes and the other team made no attempt to retrieve it.

Disgraceful, to say the least.

the worst example for arrangement dates back to worldcup 1982 in Spain.
Germany and Austria clashed for their last group game in the city of Gijon. soon after the 1:0 for germany both teams settled on something like non-agression pact. this result made it possible to germany & austria to go through the next round but meant the end of the road to algeria.
this was one of the darkest hours in our german soccer history. even today the german supporters are ashamed of that non-performance. we still call it "die Schande von Gijon" (transl. the disgrace of gijon) the dutch newspaper 'Volksgrant' wrote: this game will go down as 'a piece of football porno' to make history.

Yeah but I think at the time they kept the staggered kick-off times for each match.

In a way FIFA's measure is the right decision but with the advances in modern communication it's hardly foolproof.

Anyway we start the final round of group games tonight. I'm hanging around for the Italy/Czech-Ghana/USA matches, there should be excitement there.

I would love Czech Rep and US to qualify but that seems to be one of the less likely scenarios......
I think Czech and Italy will draw and US will take points of Ghana to ensure the Europeans qualify.....

Who do you think will won the cup ?
I was rather impressed by Argentina...
I was UNimpressed by Brazil... but maybe they're hiding their game and preserving themselves... who knows.
From what i saw, i thought Spain was good too...

I would like my team too won but they won't, they're pretty crappy and i think we'll be very lucky if they reach second turn :(... i'll have to give my heart to the English team... :) (i couldn't watch them, how are they playing ?)

Holy Shit , I've only saw now with precision , yesterday TOGO WAS ROBBED !!! The 2 most cleared P.K.s in this cup . After all that polemics , Fifa "answered" them . Christ that was horrible , terrible . And it's not the 1st time , Africans have been stoled on this cup specially gainst europeans . Remember that PK for Ghana against Italy , it wasnt given ...... What a shame

Specially given that Mr. Blatter is switz . Whatta Shame

Togo WAS STEALED , ROBBED , FUCKED UP MERCILESS , SHAMELESS

Fifa- Example of Shame

I'm still waiting for my favorite player to score.C'mon Ronaldo, show who you are.And I still think he can score 6 goals on this tournament

Argentina

Brazil celebrated the win over Australia the same way a college team would have - like they didn't expect to win or something.

I think that Sweden - England will be an extremely boring match resulting in a draw that would move both teams through.

Although I still hope that I'm wrong and Sweden can pull the upset and force England to play Germany in the round of 16...

This game can be a bit dangerous for the queen's team , coz if lose , not only they will catch Germany , but afer a defeat as well so .....

Remember that game, really awful, also another darkest hour for West Germany in that World Cup was Schumachers terrible lunge at Battiston against France, swallowed his tongue, lost teeth and Schumacher didnt even get booked, disgusting, glad they got beaten in the final.

England as a nation are a bunch of fakes.
We spend months of saying we can win the world cup and such and all of a sudden we worry about who we played next round:huh: , if we wanan win this world cup we shouldnt be afraid to play anyone.

Im sure brazil and argentina dont panic who they play.

If the games are extremely which should I watch , SWE X ENG or TRI X PAR ......

Michael Owen just crawled off the pitch...

EDIT: Owen out, Mr. Roboto in.

teams who worry to much about who they want to be facing usually end up losing to the team they reckoned they could beat
not thinking about it at all is usually the better option

Owen  What the .... was that ... That got to te the weirdest injury I've ever seen . Seems like England isnt lucky today

AND Before the game ..............

:drunk:

Tell you what ..... If the game goes on like this ..... I smell GER X ENG

Holy crap, that was an amazing shot by Joe Cole.

Also, is it me, or is Peter Crouch the worst in the world at reading the ball? He's had 2 or 3 wide-open headers on which he's completely missed the ball.

Nice Goal . It seemed like a Free-Kick by Juninho , the ball seemed like it was gonna out , and it got down and in.

Though I have to say , it's quite difficult Sweeden doesnt scores , they were pushin way more for it.

i don't think that even Joe Cole thought that ball would stay in the stadium when it left his foot

Sweeden was doin so fine , specially its defense and now.... :|

They let the brits kick , it's like rule #1 of football , want to piss of and cut brit's game , dont LET THEM FREE TO KICK...... and now ther are even letting them cross..... Disappointed with Swe's def.

Hmm. So if Sweden loses 2-0 to England and T&T beats Paraguay 1-0, second place in the group will be decided by a coin flip. Exciting.

Paraguay IS beating T¨T bt 1-0 mate , so sweeden is being saved

Nevermind, misread the score. Tee hee.

But if England won 3-1 and T&T came back to win 2-1, then Sweden and T&T would be tied.
