I have a major soft spot for The Time Machine, but it's not as sci-fi as those two, I guess.

I'd say it's as sci-fi as most things for that period.
That is, if we're talking about the same film. (based on the HG Wells book)
It's a time traveling 'wagon' or some shit right?
Plus it has those silly Morlocks at the end.

Taken in context, it is a good sci fi flick for 1960ish.
Most things from that period were a lot more cheesy than this film ever got and didn't have much in the way of a stronger concept (that I can think of).

The Time Machine reminds me of Time After Time with Malcom McDowell.
Malcom McDowell is playing HG Wells, I don't even remember the plot.
Might be a flaming fecal mass for all I remember but I liked it when I was a kid.

Yes, the one with Rod Taylor. It was that when I posted it, I wasn't considering the huge jump in science fiction from '60 to '68.

Time After Time is pretty badass. Jack the Ripper (David fuckin' Warner) steals Wells' time machine, and Wells goes back to '70s San Francisco to bring him back before he kills Mary Steenburgen.
