You should use ice rather than heat. Take it one from you had the same problem as you.

Ice for inflamation and also heat to get the blood flowing back to the area. Blood flow is what will help heal inflamed area.

12 years of dance injuries says ice. All the way. Heat';s mainly used for sore muscles, that sort of thing. ICe will bring down the inflammation and help numb the pain.

I found that Celebrex (200 mg) works really well for tendonitis.
