My brother-in-law and sister-in-law used to have one of these every summer a few years back.
They would dig a pit and cook the pig in the ground, comes out quite tender that way.
Have fun.

A hungi?
(maori style of cooking food in the ground. Good fun)
Can I tell my pig story? I was giving my son a driving lesson a couple of weeks ago. We were driving back from the beach and I said''what the..?!!" is that, dead ahead?" He slowed down and a huge , seriously scarily
huge feral
black pig strolled across the road in front of us. Son then looked in rear view miror and asked "Is that a police car behind us?" YES!!! I don't know, I found it amusing, poetic and I hope there aren't too many more of those critters in the woods thank you very much.

I went to a Hawaiian Luau when I vacationed in Hawaii with my family 10-12 years ago...my how time flies...
