Thought I'd point out that CNY is a cultural thing more than a religious thing. Anyway, Happy Chinese New Year! christiana, did you get my postcard?

Indeed, but the lunar new year is one of the most important Buddhist festivals as well. We all have to go to temple and clean our houses for like three days and feed the dragons and stuff. But yes it is possible to celibrate from outside the religious context. Although it can be argued that Buddhism is not nessisarily a religion either... it's a way of life.

Yeah, so today is the new year of the water horse. This is not a particularly good thing if you are a little water dog like me, but it means something because my year has been so increadibly horrid that I am ready for a new one. Unfortunatly as we all know, nothing changes on new years day. So anyway, everyone go eat some Chinese food and report back here. I am making a huge dinner for virtually everyone I know. Wish you all could come!!!
